I understand the fanbase has been hurt enough with the trading of draft picks but this is a different case. It's do or die and it's worth it in my opinion. No free agent class will be better than this. None.

We're in TOO DEEP for 2010. It's time to go all-in the gamble. We've been losing for 10 f'ing years. It's time for us to go balls to the wall. If we F up, whatever. But I've come too far (I think we all have) to sit here an haggle over Jordan ****ing Hill and a 2012 protected draft pick if it means having a chance to sign 2 max guys. I just wont do it.

Isiah, is that you?

That's why Isiah traded a future first round pick for Marbury, and why he gave up 2 for Curry. Because being worried about where those picks might end up or who they might turn into is a loser mentality.

I will be so done with this franchise's current brain trust if they trade 3 lottery picks for for an extra $9MM in salary cap this summer.

Loser mentality again. How do you know 2011 and 2012 will be lottery picks? What if they're protected? Unbelievable, really. this board will become unbearable through july if this trade goes down. I can't wait...

i think it's fair to assume the swap rights won't be lottery protected... that's the whole point behind trading swap rights... the Rockets are banking on us losing out on the Lebron/Wade/Bosh sweepstakes this summer & hope to reap the benefits in the draft... the only lottery protection will be on that 2012 pick if anything... right now they're probably just trying to figure out how many years to have protection that pick, similar to the one we just lost to Utah as part of the Marbury deal.

So in summation, in Chicago Houston is favoring Chicago's offer. In NY the NY trade is the front runner. SI says TMac to NY is pretty much a wrap. ESPN says TMac going to Chicago.

What do we use as the tiebraker? Rock, scissors, paper?

LOL. The Knicks are a joke. We are going to give up essentially 3 lotto picks for the slim chance of signing Lebron and Bosh. Unbelievable. I am about ready to give up on this team. Didn't we learn from the Marbury and Curry trades. Didn't we learn from Orlando, when they gave up Ben Wallace and Corey Maggette on the slim hope of signing Duncan and Hill. 3 1st round picks is just too much. At the very least, we should have gotten Kyle Lowry back in the deal to give us a pg prospect. What a freakin joke.

i agree with you, but don't you think walsh or someone in the know has an idea who is interested in playing here? i can't imagine that donnie walsh would do with this with no inkling of what's to happen.

or maybe i'm an idiot. i don't know.

the knicks just told all their fans that you can't rebuild in ny (at least via the draft).

well, you may be right, dj.

just like you can't rebuild through free agency in minnesota.

heres an idea..dont make this trade with houston..have enough cap money to sign one big time f/a..then next season jeffries expiring contract wil be valuable and we can get a first rder..next yr we'l have one big f/a(bosch?),jordan hill,2011 1st rde in place and 2012 1st rder, and future 1st rder in next yrs jeffries trade..then summer of 2011 we'll sign our 2nd big f/a (paul?) and stlil have al the aforementioned assets..if this mcgardy trade goes thru david stern should put a stop to it and change the stepian rules to isaih walsh rules..stern cant afford to have another bad 10 yrs in ny..larry obrien would stop this insanity

they have dlee to offer in a sign and trade... but i agree this trade does strip the cupboard quite a bit.

but to even get to the stage of offering a sign and trade, they have to have the outright cap space to offer TWO max deals.

they can give the new signee an opt out after 3yrs and offer to re-max them out. dunno. it'll be an interesting summer, for sure.

Berger just reported the Knicks gave the Rockets their final offer on protection from the picks and it's now in Houstons hands to pick either the Bulls or Knicks offer.

Execs feel that the Knicks offer is better than the Bulls offer.

The Knicks and Rockets discussed a potential Tracy McGrady trade again Wednesday morning.

Sources familiar with the negotiations told ESPN.com that while the Knicks told the Rockets that they remain interested in acquiring McGrady in a deal for Larry Hughes and Jared Jeffries, they are still unwilling to meet all of the Rockets' demands, which includes cap relief, Jordan Hill, the swapping of 2011 first-round picks and the Knicks' 2012 first-round pick.

"We'd like McGrady and the cap relief," one Knicks source said. "But the Rockets are asking for too much. We're willing to pay a premium to make a deal. But the price right now is still too high."

According to the source, the Rockets are still looking for other partners. The Bulls have been mentioned as a possibility, however, sources believe that their offer is less attractive than New York's, even at their reduced offer.

Crossing my fingers this TMac salary dump trade goes through. This is huge. This could be our offseason.

10M more cap space. Room enough for TWO max free agents.

Gotta get this done.

If Donnie trades those picks then he taught Isiah well.

OMG, get out of here. There's no way we can do a risky trade like this.

Wiretap is basically reporting that Morey used the Bulls to up Donnie's offer and now that Donnie said "**** off" he may hold off on trading TMac to force Donnie's hand (despite that great offer from the Bulls) or just keep him.

It says he wants to force Donnie to include Hill. Good luck with that Darryl. Donnie just pulled your juice card. Better step up brother.

If Jamison is indeed a Cavalier now then I am 100% with making this deal with Houston.

I cant believe Cleveland dropped the ball this badly. They really think a 34 yr old Jamison is going to keep Lebron around.
