Jason Kidd makes his teammates better. You cannot say that about Marbury.

THAT was why the Nets got 1000 times better. He got the ball to Van Horn, he got the ball to Kittles. He made Martin and Jefferson the players they are today.

Marbury is not that kind of player.

But again, if he was, why would Phoenix trade him? They would build around him, right?

hey guys for all you guys that think houston and van horn are the first options, and these guys are big deals and van horn has been playing great lateley, answer me this

did they take the 4th quarter off in the last two games. no baskets no defensives stops no nothing. i trust marbury with a big shot than i trust these two clowns.

you act like this knick team is 21 and 8, they are 14 and 20 something.

keith and allan go to get the ball but marbury is my money guy with the game on the line.

hofeully we an trade these two chumps, i wouldnt mind one of them but not both.

the young players will hurt, but we didnt trade for a mcdeyyes or a kenny banister.

he got a guy that can play. hopefully he plays hard for a place he wanted to play. and hopefully we get a clause in our contract that says we keep the pick if it's a top five. and we get omekafor.

bootsy there are 12 guys on a team, kidd, van horn, and 10 stiffs? cause thats what marbury had. but you right i was wrong, it would of been kidd and 11 stiffs. kidd is great but he had keith on his team remeber? and keith did nothing? remember? Rembere kidd wanting Keith gone? you must of forgot? Keith took the whole playoffs off. He got drilled in every round. with the great jason kidd.

Good talking to yall I'm out I got to go back to my site. hopfully there are more moves coming. Bootsey stay up bro. if lampe is the next kareem, be easy on a brother. see yall in a few weeks.
peace.

Jason Kidd took Keith Van Horn to the NBA Finals!

You leave that out.....it doesn't help your argument.

Let's see Marbury do that before you compare the two. It's not even close.

ARES is right. How can we not be excited about Marbury. We have got pure talent! This can can basically score at will! And thats by penetrating. He does make people better! He might not make them as good as J.Kidd does but he makes the players around him much much btter. DO you guys think Amare would be where he was last year without a Stephon caliber PG?

He is good. Give him a chance. And H2O and KVH cannot be our first option players. I would love to see one of their contracts gone. I truly belive Isiah is not done so lets have some patience. Lampe, Milos and 2 draft picks gone, right now, we are a better team than we were yesterday. Give Zeke till the deadline.

Kidd also got to play with a healthy Kenyon Martin, Richard Jefferson and fulyl recovered Kerry Kittles. GIve Stephon a chance.

I just don't think Marbury is a winner. It's not about giving him a chance.

I have absolutely no doubt that for awhile, he will be on cloud nine....pumped to be in NY..........but 2 years from now, he'll wear out his welcome...just like he did everywhere else.

I'm stunned by this move.

I wonder if Keith is the next to go. He and Stephon didn't get along to well on the Nets.

I dunno man. I really think Stephon is going to be unreal here. Lets just say Zeke control's him keeps him under tabs and the NY Media keeps him in line, imagine the upside we have with this guy. He is unreal. And he can make people so much better just by penetrating. He will frustrate the Eastern Conference defenses with his style of play!

I have seen this guy go off for 40 points in 3 quarters against Seattle when Ewing first came to this area after his trade. Stephon is good and if he can be harnessed he can take if to the Eastern Conference championship. As for Lampe and Milos, its just terrible they had to go but can you honestly gaurantee them being better than Stephon?

There is no question that the Knicks are better, but by making the cap situation worse, and by giving up whatever future the Knicks had, there is no chance that the Knicks will ever win a championship. Prior to this trade there was a remote chance.

Are you guys f'in morons? That trade was great.

Upsides:

Ward & Eisley sucked. No question. Marbury would be 10x better than them on his worst day.

McDyess would never get back to near his prime (which wasnt all that anyway). He's def gonna get injured again and Pheonix will be in deep ****.

Vujanic and Lampe? All maybe's. Vujanic isnt doing spectacular in a European league and once he comes to NBA you expect him to do better? Marbury w/Eisely and maybe Moochie are better. Lampe? That kid sucked. No defense, poor shot, can't use his weight to rebound. Sure, in 3-4 years he could be decent, but we cant wait that long.

Draft picks? Tell me the last time the knicks used a draft pick. They didnt. Theyre only good picks were Ewing and M Jackson. Plus Knicks wouldve prob gotten a **** draft pick between 12 and 17 again.

Downsides:

Marbury is great, but i dont see him changing the team like Kidd did to Nets. Might be a ball hog, etc.

Penny's past prime but should be good bench support.

"No matter how long you play in this league, there's still things that come up that are surprising, and this is definitely one of them. Personally we never had any problems. On the court we didn't win, and I think that was the biggest problem that Stephon and I had."

-- F Keith Van Horn on Jan. 5, responding to the news that former Nets teammate Stephon Marbury was joining the Knicks via trade from the Suns. Marbury had been quoted as saying Van Horn's apparent lack of talent was one reason the Nets did not win

ok, here is my take:

Marbury is 10- times the player that Ward and eisley are at the point. Dice is done.

So for 2 medicore PG's (actually I only wish Ward's D was still here) and a hurt PF, they got a top 3 PG!

now for Hardaway. He is a backup 1-2-3. Fwill can also backup the 1-2 now so NY is set at G.

Trading away Lampe, MIlos and the picks - Well, Lampe was not doing anything. We are trading his potential as well as the potential of 2 mid-first round picks. We are getting a 7-2 C back, which is a project too, but at least he has some potential. As for Milos, he is a great european player but has show nothing here, when and iF he comes he has much to prove. Meanwhile we have a 26 year old PG who Milos was not going to unseed anyway.

We gave up alot and I still think without a legit C, there can be no ring.

My one concern is the attitude BOTh Marbury and penny bring. They are known for being bad locker room personalities. How will Houston react with Ward being traded? In addition, NY's fron court depth is dwindling FAST....KT, OH, Deke, Doleac, Sweets, Trybanski....I think Leon Smith is coming VERY SOON.

Marbury knows new york well enough to know that he better be on his best behavoir. Oh and by the way, can we please get rid of chaney still? otherwise he's gonna be playing moochie in the 4th instead of marbury.

The one thing that truly sucks about this trade, mroe than Lampe and Milos going bye bye is the massive addition of salary. I however think Isiah will dump a lot of it before the trading deadline.

I hope DICE passes the physical and makes the deal legit!

NY rotation:

Marbury-Houston-KVh-KT-DEke-Anderson-hardaway-Fwill-Othella-Doleac-Sweets-Moochie
Trybanski-Leon Smith

Still one roster SPOT open.

I think Moochie will be dealt....who said something about the Clips?

Isiah is sure creative. He traded Spoon and eisley already! Who knows Shandon may be next! Maybe and Artest for Shandon and filler trade?

i'm still trying to figure out how this rich guy says we hadd a remote shot with lampe and vuljanic ????

Bootsey I had to come back, yes Kidd TOOK keith to the finals, cause lords knows Keith didnt help.

But why are you comparing Kidd to Marbury, We didnt trade Kidd, Kidd was the guy that demolished the knicks last night. You remember the game where Keith Van horn decided not to guard anyone in the fourth or score any baskets.

oooooooooh but i get it yes Marbury is the loser. Keith, yeah this guy is a victim. it wasnt his fault he scored 1 point or so in a playoff game last year against the pistons. Yeah that was iversons fault huh?

My guess, and by this i mean no malice, you didnt really watch the nets when marbury was there. you read the clippings and sports center. i watched every game. I saw a dude playing his ass off, playing team ball, his numbers are identical to last years TEAM version of marbury. I saw guy keith do what he did all his career play hard when there is no pressure, and shy away during cluthc times. You remember when keith was in college and they made that final four run. who was taking all the critical shots who was making the plays.

Andre Miller.

Keith had great numbers with th nets, with marbury. worse numbers with kidd. they had less talent bro. how o you expect marbury to win with Morris, and jason williams. Bootsey thorton couldnt win withou ARtest.
