i take Dirk over JJ... even if u sign both to the max, i'd rather have 3 stellar years out of Dirk than 5 very good years out of JJ.

To be fair, I really have only watched Beasley when he plays the Knicks--- otherwise I only see his stats. Gallo on the other hand, I can be excited about and wouldn't call him a one-trick pony, but it scares me how he is hanging on the 3pt line so much. Its a great part of his game, but I'd like to see him get stronger and be able to work better on the block before I consider him a more rounded player. Not that Beasley is tearing things up, but he has just as much potential as Gallo, if not more.

I think LBJ at the PG would be perfect for this system. That would make the D'antoni defense just as well known as the 7 seconds offense.

Dirk is a diff class of max FA... he costs more than the rest cause he's been in the league for 10 years he would be 35% of the cap rather than 30% (roughly $2.7M more than the other max free agents). I don't know if that changes your opinion.

If you watch the show you know its were Gallo is supposed to be in our offensive....

To spread the floor..... Let Gallo bring the Ball up and you will see he is our best PG too!!

I don't want to argue against Gallo, and I have made several posts about the value of Gallo spreading the floor. I'd love to see Gallo bring the ball up rather than getting frozen out by Duhon. Or at least let Gallo initiate the offense once the ball crosses the half. I just don't want to see him get to comfortable behind the 3 and would like to see him drive some more. Heck, I don't even like Beasley, I just think he still has a lot of offensive potential and wouldn't write him off.

SG - Douglas
SF - Gallo
PF-
C - Hill

Gallo could play Either F spot I believe but Melo would be the perfect PF for this system!!

Lebron would be playing the Point Forward position here... u could make due w/TD at PG if u got Lebron... the ball would be going through Lebron on most possessions, but u'd also wanna post Lebron up as well... Melo would be superfluous... he needs to touch the ball a lot to be most effective... u can't have 2 ball dominators on the same team & get the most out of both guys.

imo this would be a much more well balanced & effective starting 5:

C - Hill
PF - Bosh, Amare or Lee
SF/SG - Gallo
SG/SF - Lebron
PG - Douglas
6 - Wilson

In the Olympics Melo showed he can handle the PF spot quite well along side of Lebron....

But here he doesn't have to play undersized--- he is athletic enough to guard the SG, SF, or PF (like Chandler's role. In the defense, the PF really needs to be able to guard the PF and the C and I don't think Melo can really guard the C. I'd slot him at the SG and get another athletic big on the court so there aren't any mismatches (that aren't in our favor).

I would be thrilled either way!!

Melo would be an upgrade in any spot we put him!!

Iverson was a ball dominator, which was a big part of why Melo didn't work out w/him... sure they both put up numbers but the rest of the team suffered... the balance was not there... Billups was a much better fit next to Melo because he wasn't a volume scorer... Iverson averaged 19 shot attempts per game the year he & Melo were together... Chauncey averaged 12 after they switched places... Lebron has averaged 21 shot attempts per game over his entire career, Melo has averaged 19... if u put Lebron & Melo together, they will be fighting over touches on offense, someone's #'s is bound to suffer.

Bosh is averaging 16 shot attempts as the man in TOR... Amare is averaging 14 per game playing next to Nash... IMO those 2 guys are an easier fit next to guys like Lebron, Melo or Wade, & gives u much more balance overall.

I believe Lebron and Melo would be fine with 20 shots a game each......

And if we run the right way they can both get that and still play within the team concept!!
