Darko can get up and down! I think people are mistaken if they think he can't move, cuz he's pretty athletic for a guy his size.

Sprint - 3.36 For Comparison Blake Griffin - 3.28 - Hill 3.30 - BJ Mullens - 3.45 more D. Blair - 3.45 Sam young - 3.45 - Derozan 3.31
Lane Agility 11.30 Compare Griffin 10.95 - Hill 12.23 - BJ Mullens 11.10 More D Blair - 11.50 - Sam Young - 11.47 - Derozan 11.88

Other stats on Darko:
Max Vert - 32.5" No Step Vert 26.5"
7'5" Wingspan
9'3.5" Standing Reach

If Curry is in shape and plays hard he will play. PETA hiring Michael Vick as a spokesperson, Bernie Madoff getting man of the year, is more likely to happen than Curry giving this team anything. If Jeffires hit 50% of his three points shots this year he will start and average 20 points a game.

I have no idea where I got Hill weighing 215 must have been off Arizona site. Lee is trying to play around 260 instead of 247 this year to see if that helps him down low a little.

If he's got some issues there, gaining weight isn't going to help the situation.

Most people don't deny that Darko can do some good stuff on the court. What me and others are wondering is when is it going to happen consistently and is it going to be with the Knicks?

I would be inclined to agree. However I believe there will be a big push and supreme effort to get Curry minutes, and probably to start.

Curry doesnt have to be skinny to be an effective player. He never has been. However the guy can put the basket in the hoop and as we know there are a lot of shots in this offense.

Walsh is a believer in giving his coach what he wants and taking a hands off approach. However moving Curry so drasticly changes the make up of Knicks can situation I am sure MDA cant ignore it. I mean MDA wants a star to coach just as bad as DW wants to sign one.

If all things were equal I think MDA would start Duhon, Hughes, Chandler, Gallo, and Lee with Douglas, Nate and Harrington off the bench with a pinch of Darko when other teams match small.

Curry will play and he will produce (something).

He could hang out with Eddy. Eddy might influence him to develop some eating habits that will help him put on the pounds.

Seriously though, I worry about injuries when guys try to put on too much weight. Maybe that's not too much for him. I don't know.

I remember when Camby was a knick and bulked up - he immediately got injured - plantar fascitis (sp?), I think. Of course we know Camby is injury prone, but still...

I've never been a fan of Curry and have always been sceptical of his offseason positive reports because I know he will be overweight. That being said we have to be fair. Last year's 0% effort was an anomoly even for Curry. Again, I don't have a ton of faith in Curry to be in shape enough to reach his potential. But if I go by history he will be in shape enough to contribute. And if that is the case, he will play.

If he's not in shape and Darko stinks how is it D'Antoni's fault that he then will need to turn to smaller guys to guard the big guys around the leauge. Isn't that the original point of King's post, or are we morphing into another topic? Because I'm perfectly willing to drop some Eddie Curry is soooooooo fat jokes

My reason for posting the stats was only to show that Darko has above avg speed and agility for a guy his size, when you look at the guy at PF who has perhaps some of the most impressive agility we've seen for a big, in Blake Griffin. Or you can see that guys who get mentiioned here that are much smaller than Darko who tested far worse in speed and agility. It was assumed that MDA wouldn't want to play him because he wasn't fast enough and I wanted to KILL that misconception. He's plenty fast enough for 7' 270 lb C.

The injury plus the stink of a poor season, tends to warp peoples vision when it comes to evaluating a prospect like Gallo. 1. He was a young rookie 2. He was injured much of the year and even when he played wasn't 100% 3. He's never even played U.S. style ball much less NBA level BB. I think the kid is impressive and so long as he can remain healthy I think he'll develop into a very good player for us. This year is gonna be fun for me and my sons, just being able to watch our young guys play and develop.

Nah i've got them THOROUGHLY brainwashed!!! One of my sons reads UK from time to time, but he's busy with school work. I've been trying to get him into it, but so far no real success yet. I'm glad to see that he loves the Knicks, Jets and Yanks tho

We'll be getting Gallo jerseys and we have this little ongoing joke where we imitate Gallo speaking in awful Italian accents. Being a dad is freakin awesome when they turnout to be good kids and have similar interests. My other son works in our family business, which is a Digital Recording Studio in Macon G.A. He does Graphics and Website design. We will be rooting hard for Gallo this year to have a good year.
