Phil Simms is a talent, but no superbowl, no national contract. Joe Namath was a star, but he is an a legend for his bravado and doin it in NY.

1986. SB XXI. 22 of 25.

It was 22 of 35... 268 yards... 3 TDs, 0 INTs. And Super Bowl XXI MVP.

But your point stands Bocker

I am going to have to take away your Big Blue membership card if you think it was 22 for 35. Comcast should be fined by the FCC for plastering incorrect stats for Phil.
Super Bowl XXI

On January 25, 1987, the Giants met the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXI. In the biggest game of his life, Simms had one of the finest performances in Super Bowl history.[19] He completed 22 of 25 passes (with 2 of his 3 incompletions being drops by receivers) for 268 yards, setting Super Bowl records for consecutive completions (10),[20] accuracy (88%),[20] and passer rating (150.9).[21] In addition, he threw 3 touchdown passes and his passer rating set an NFL postseason record.[21] "This might be the best game a quarterback has ever played," Giants coach Bill Parcells later said.[22] Two of the most famous plays from the game were the flea flicker to Phil McConkey, and the touchdown pass caught by McConkey off of the fingertips of Giants tight end, Mark Bavaro.[23] The Giants defeated the Broncos 39-20, and Simms was named MVP of Super Bowl XXI. He is credited for being the first to use the phrase "I'm going to Disneyland!"/"I'm going to Walt Disney World Resort!" following a championship victory.

I agree with you up until what is more potent: Knicks win or the Cavs win?

Hmm. Interesting point.

Winning in Cleveland would be huge there since the city's franchises have been in a drought since the Browns in '64. That would be a huge sports story, and LeBron would probably get one of Ohio's seat in the U.S. Senate for that.

But bringing a championship to the Knicks? Wow. That would be insane. Just imagining that gives me goosebumps, no joke. I'm seeing you guys' point in terms of what this city has to offer him.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.
