While we're on the topics of stats and performance, let's take a step back, for a moment.

KVH has been hot, and has become arguably the first scoring option for the Knicks over the last 5 games (granted, the Knicks have been spreading the ball around really well). His numbers are up to 16.4 / 7.3. I think that as a Knick, he could potentially have a season where he comes close to 20 / 10. (though 20 / 8 is might more attainable) Keep in mind that Houston will inevitably slow down in the next 2 or 3 seasons and someone will have to take an extra two or three shots per game to compensate.

While not quite as talented, I bet by the end of the season KVH's numbers won't be too far off from those of Dirk Nowitzki's fallen numbers, which have come as a result of added frontcourt depth on Dallas. It's simply tough to score a lot of points consistently when playing within the team concept and spreading the ball.

As a note on the 19 / 9.5 "star" quota:
The league has lost a lot of perrenial 20-10 superstars in the last couple of years: David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon, Mourning, Barkley, Kemp all come to mind. Others who have done it before or close (Coleman, Baker, Gugliotta, Howard) are shadows of their former selves.

A couple of young guys who might also be making the list: Jermaine O'Neal, Zach Randolph, and Elton Brand... (I don't know their FG%) Also Dirk Nowitzki is also right around that level, and Antoine Walker is nudging his way up

I see KVH picking up the pieces where needed. KVH ties AH for points scored in double figures with 13. KVH also led the charge with 5 double/doubles in the same month. Couple his production with KT, AH and AM could be the formula for a winning team. As the New Year rolls in [wishing everyone a happy New Year] with FW getting more minutes and Zeke in the Driver's seat, Knicks are on the up and up.

IMO KVH just doesn't have what it takes to really help us at this point. This is NEW YORK, not Utah. We don't want soft-azz cats on our squad. Spree repped the NY state of mind- outspoken, fiery, passionate, intense, and refusing to back down. KVH personifies the opposite of those attributes

WOW!

I still stand by what I say. I know the idea of that is foreign to you, though.

Ya boy will end up traded and this idiotic banter will become as irrelevant as all the space you wasted on JVG, Spree, LayDown and Done Chaney.

Then the mods can do us all a favor and close this thread for good.

Once again, thanks for qouting me correctly.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Van is the Man !!!

Van Horn, Stephon In Sync

By Jim Baumbach
STAFF WRITER

January 17, 2004

You don't need a boxscore to know Keith Van Horn is having a good game. Just look at his face. His cheeks turn red, his eyes open wide and he huffs and puffs every time he has the ball.

Nets coach Byron Scott used to call the look "Killer Keith," but that's old news to Stephon Marbury. The new Knicks point guard, who played with Van Horn on the Nets, said this is a new and improved Van Horn. "He's way more aggressive now," Marbury said. "I mean he attacks. He's always in attack mode now."

That was evident Friday night as Van Horn scored 30 points in a 108-88 win over Seattle. He shot 10-for-15 from the field and had seven rebounds.

In the last 13 games, Van Horn has averaged 20.9 points and shot 54 percent (100-for-182).

During their time with the Nets, Marbury and Van Horn were never described as friends. But during Friday night's rout, they chatted often and celebrated together on more than a few occasions. "He even said to me, 'You got better. You see the pass quicker, like a second before,'" Marbury said.

Van Horn said: "It's not about Stephon and I developing chemistry. It's Stephon and the rest of the Knicks and we as a team developing chemistry."

Still, for Knicks fans clinging to hope of a run to the playoffs, knowing that Marbury and Van Horn not only see eye to eye but also are connecting on the court is surely a good feeling. They definitely appear to be off to a good start.

Van Horn is also more animated on the court, and Friday night punctuated a powerful over-the- shoulders, two-handed dunk late in the third by pumping his fist and letting out a loud scream.

"Keith was saying, 'Man, in the third quarter, I'm tired now, and I never get tired,'" Marbury said. "Yeah, because now you're running."

When he plays aggressive he can do many things and deserves credit. When he doesn't he deserves to be bashed. There is no reason y he should be aggressive every single game including playoffs.

But so far he has been very aggressive and I have enjoyed watching him play. The backwards dunk was nice.

On a side note Spree has been doing REAL good in Minn for those who care. And Minn has been 17-3 in these last 2 months and I have enjoyed watching the old Spree aswell. He dunked on Tony Parker that was nice.

``I knew we were down and the team needed me to do something,'' Van Horn said. ``Lenny wanted me to keep shooting, and I was going to. Fortunately, that fourth quarter, I got it together

......................Yep

What other attributes you lookin for
