Malik's statement was dumb. "I know for a fact..." How? I understand the need to defend your teammate but you don't know what anyone's doing when you're not around. Reactionary statements don't exactly help Eddy's cause. "Tarnish his brand?" What brand? It's Eddy Curry for crying out loud. I think being fat, lazy and irrelevant will do more to tarnish a basketball player's brand than being an alleged gay racist.

Extortion attempts are common in the NBA. NBA players who don't know how to treat others with dignity and respect and think money gives them a pass to be an ******* are prevalent as well. Who knows what really went on.

I don't know what kind of credibility Curry's accuser has, but I hope for everyone's sake this guy is just bitter, bored and broke and needed a quick fix for all 3.

Its hard to judge this based on what we know of Eddy. At 26 he is still a man-child in many ways. He is married with kids but could still be wanting the forbidden fruit.

The drivers lawyer must have some basis to create a suit with some evidence. I can see a pure shake down for money, and if so the dude will lose. If he has a credible lawyer that might speak volume as the brunt of this depends on their ability to create evidence.

You need witness's, love letters, photos, or somthing besides one mans word against another. The convict has not much cred here.

Im sure eddy could have paid the dude $98k and be done with it.

Eddy ran home crying cuz they call him "Lurch"? Or there was no "Lunch!"

Has any GM in the history of any sport ever put together another group that has had so many legal problems and personality disorders? Unreal. Way to go Isiah. But, I'm sure MODI will make another blog about how Isiah's terrible trades and roster management were due to Layden.

You can trace the path of destruction right back to it's inception point: The trading of Ewings 14M expiring contract.

That is where this all began. That enabled the payroll to explode and gave incompetent GMs the ability to continue the practice of recycling expiring deals into even bigger deals. I think we were at 56M the day we traded Ewing. Layden had us up to either 72M or 84M I can't recall but I think it was the latter. Isiah took it and turned it into 143M at one point. OUTSTANDING!!!

The sad thing were they were all garbage players. All of them. A couple with some talent but in the end them too destructive enough for it to not matter.

What a ride it's been and Walsh has finally put an END to it.
