This was a weird trade too.

i'd trade Tim for KVH right now if i could.

I dont know about that, but it was definitely a bad trade at the time. Van Horn was ballin'... Might have been playing the best ball of his career. He seemed completely comfortable and the team was gelling.

i don't ever recall crapping on the Tim & Mobley for Zach trade, but i guess u'r not allowed not to like a player on this roster unless his name is Zach or Jamal... gotcha.

Wait, please re-word the final part of that sentence. You messed something up there and my feeble mind can't fix it in a "I know what you meant" sort of way.

Uh, I still don't get it, so I'll pretend I do.

So then I think you're misinterpreting me?

I hate Zach and Crawful. Did for quite some time. You're allowed to like and dislike whomever you want on the roster. I just could never understand why two terrible players were so loved and still loved by some who lament their trading. I also don't know why in such a rebuilding process, guys like Thomas and Jeffries and Q who are clearly not great players - are at least playing as hard as they can - like being here - and play within the team concept as well as they can --- are ripped on.

Maybe...we agree on something here and there's a miscommunication, I don't know lol. I'm confused.

for the life of me i don't understand how u get the sense that Tiny Tim is playing as hard as he can when all it takes is a rudimentary glance at him in game action to see that he's not most of the time he's on the floor... i must be watching a different game, or you're talking about someone else named Tim Thomas.

i rip on Fishlips cuz he stinks... i rip on Tiny Tim cuz he's a loafer... u've ripped on Curry & Jamal for the same reasons many times in the past (tho i have never thought Jamal was a loafer on the court the way u have, but that's something we'll never agree upon so we'll just leave it at that)... anyway i have not once lamented the fact that we traded Jamal, so not sure where u're pulling that one from... i've always like Al Harrington & i love the fact that he's a Knick now & playing well proving some of his doubters wrong like i always knew he could.

no matter how much i hate Tim Thomas' approach to the game, he's a Knick & i root for him to succeed, but i don't expect much out of him... i know he's fugazy & that's just a fact i've learned to live with... doesn't mean i gotta like it tho... whatever, this is a pointless argument.

NEW YORK (December 12, 2008) - It took nine games into his second stint with the New York Knicks for Tim Thomas to remind Head Coach Mike D’Antoni just how good he really is.

And with a crucial three-game road trip on the horizon, which begins in Sacramento on Saturday night (10:00 pm on MSG), Thomas might have earned himself some more minutes in D’Antoni’s rotation.

“I just got to learn to get him in the game more,” D’Antoni said after Wednesday’s 121-109 win over the Nets. “It’s my fault that he wasn’t highlighted a little bit more because he arguably is our most talented player.”

A product of Patterson Catholic High School (N.J.), Thomas had his best game of the season in New Jersey, scoring 26 points and grabbing four rebounds in 31 minutes. But most of his damage came when D’Antoni needed a replacement for injured starter David Lee in the final quarter and a half.

After trailing by as many as 15 in the first half, the 6-foot-10 forward gave the Knicks the lead for good on a dunk with 4:20 remaining in the third quarter followed by a 3-pointer and free throw. New York is 10-12 just over a quarter into the season.

“I’m not really concerned about scoring 20 or 30 points every night,” Thomas said. “I’m concerned about winning games.”

Winning isn’t anything new for Thomas, who helped lead D’Antoni’s Suns deep into the postseason in 2006. He played only 46 total games with Phoenix in D’Antoni’s run-and-gun offense, but that stretch could have been the best of his career.

Thomas averaged 15.1 points in 20 playoff games under D’Antoni, and his clutch 3-pointer that prevented the Suns from an early first-round exit is perhaps the highlight of his 12-year career.

Down 3-2 against the Lakers, Thomas made a three with 6.3 seconds left to tie the game at 105 and force overtime. Phoenix would win behind Thomas’ 21 points and eventually advance to the Western Conference Finals.

“You have to trust your teammates and trust one another out there and let the game come to you,” said Thomas.

If all goes as planned, Thomas will lead another D’Antoni squad into the playoffs this season. With Jared Jeffries getting back to 100 percent and Nate Robinson on the verge of returning from a groin injury, the Knicks are almost healthy for the first time in over three weeks and can begin to look towards the future.

“I believe in this system and I know the kind of guys that we have and the talent that we have on this team we can get into the playoffs,” said Thomas, who is averaging 10.4 points and 4.3 rebounds this season. “Once we get there, anything can happen.”
