I like the pick. I hope he has a stellar rookie year and I hope he answers the criticism.

i am scratching my head about our pick. i love bayless but their must be a reason he dropped all the way down to 12 and get traded. we said we have to be patient and no doubt this kid will be a project and won't start showing what he can do in a couple of years. at least walsh has a plan and us knick fans said that we will be patient so i am going to be patient. remember, this is the guy who drafted detlef shrempf and the dunking dutchman so he knows international talent. however, i think bayless is going to be ridiculous instantly. walsh also indicated that this summer will have changes so there will be trades. so we will see.

I really wanted Bayless and don't see how the Knicks could pass him up at #6 but iam not going to kill them for taking Gallinari.

players always drop. looks like the only other team looking at a pg was charlotte...and with felton in tow, brown probably saw bayless in a similar mold so he decided to go another direction.

clips wanted a scorer. bucks have mo williams. charlotte took dj. nets wanted a big. that's how he fell.

This is where your wrong. Crawford is barely in the lane. Furthermore, Crawford doesn't deserve to be on the team.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

that's why i said i hope to be hearing it... i wanna see Jamal penetrating more this season & kicking out to open teammates rather than playing that 1 on 1 game all the time.

He's been doing the same thing for 8 seasons. I don't see it changing now. But hey, if his value increases a bit this year, great. Maybe we could find somewhere to deal him at the deadline.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

yeah i realize it's a stretch but hey, what else do we have at this point but to hope things work out? there's obviously no big trades coming our way so settle in & keep your fingers crossed that Walsh made the right decision for our franchise.

Just seen it on RealGM but it makes sense now, is Conley now available? If Lee changed his mind or can be convince could Conley be gotten for Lee and a filler?

This is just the 1st step in the process of putting this team together right. IMO it's a solid pick of a talented young prospect. DG is coming to the perfect place for him under D'Antoni.

The thing I liked the most about Galinari was seeing that he is bigger than Beasley. Not just taller, but bigger.

oohah

Beasley is 240 pounds and was the strongest freshmen by far. Beasley is an animal. 6-8 240 isnt far off from lebron.

RIP Crushalot😞

Danilo Gallinari heard a hearty round of boos when the New York Knicks selected him with the No. 6 pick, but he isn't phased by any of it.

"It's a part of the game; all the players has got to hear this," Gallinari said of the boos. "It's not every time that you hear good things. So it's normal here."

He answered similarly when asked whether he felt it was unfair for New Yorkers to boo him when they don't know his game that well.

"No, I feel normal and comfortable with that. I have got no problem, and it's my work to prove everybody that I am a good player. So that's everything on me."

that's what u wanna hear from this guy... he's got a lot to prove this season, let's hope he can do it.

Danilo & ARod have something in common now... the most pressure to perform up to unrealistic standards by NY fans... he won't have to reach ARod's standards obviously but the pressure on this kid is still huge.

It does make sense, that in the long run, the Knicks project DG to be a 4. That will be an easier position for him to defend once he is strong enough. Here's the way I look at this pick from everything I've heard about him.

Strengths -
Outside shot
Handle
Intensity

Weaknesses -
Defense
Athleticism

Moving him to the 4 in two or three years will minimize his weaknesses. All in all, I think this is going to turn out to be a good pick. I don't think we got a steal, but I think that in time, we'll be very happy with DG.

deflating draft

Marbury gets 1 last shot

i think the realization that marbury will be in the fold, or at least the appearance that he's in the fold, is the most depressing part.

gallinari could be good, but we really need to see. time to be a little patient.

as for the pick - once seattle took westbrook, there was basically no one i wanted at 6. if we'd passed on westbrook, i'd be irate. but i don't think bayless is that good and the only other guy i wanted was anthony randolph. so now we see if gallinari can be better than randolph. sigh. i really hope the detlef schrempf comparisons are accurate.

edit: wait, what am i talking about? i would've taken Alexander. that kid is a beast. crap what a horrible draft.

Just from what I've read thus far, he's not really a spot up shooter from 3, as much as a guy who can create shots for himself with fakes.

He's not the best 3pt shooter, but his mid range game is very strong. Honestly, for someone his size, I tend to like the mid-range game more than a guy who stands outside hitting threes.

And it might more likely be Galinari passing to Crawford for 3 than vice versa.
