I've really thought about this. When Isiah is gone, I won't give a crap about him anymore. I'll be annoyed at the shambles he'll be leaving my Knicks and I'll always ridicule him but I'll be back to being a Knicks fan. Dolan and Isiah's leftover garbage will be impossible to overlook but at least I'll have my team back. It'll be an interesting transformation back to the diehard I used to be.

Look at the quote above. He states in no uncertain terms that if you try to take measures to control his poisonous influence on this board, he will try to get around it. Don't you find that disrespectful?

Actually, if you read that entire post in context, you see Isles is talking about what he'll do once IT is gone. He says he'll turn back into the die-hard fan he used to be, but continue to find a way to annoy the people he enjoys annoying. He isn't talking about the ignore feature at all.

I have re-read the post and you may be right. But I am not sure I understand your point. Is it any better that he means he will intentionally annoy people even if Isiah Thomas is gone? It's just another feather in his cap of ultimate loser-ness.

Really? Personally I find Islefan's comedy to be on the level of "Jackass the Movie". I see very little comedy. He has about 8 stock insults/phrases that he recycles over and over again. No creativity. Just bile.

By the way, Islesfan's accuracy? Overrated. When Isiah took over the Knicks were capped out to hell and the entire team was on its way out of the NBA. And he predicted they would not be good in the near future? GENIUS!

I don't think he said near future. He probably said something closer to the "future indefinitely so long as Isiah's here." And meanwhile it's 4 years later, none of Layden's players are on the team or on the payroll, and Isles was still right.

I vote no on the ignore feature. I vote yes to Martin and Andrew making the effort to control the 2 trolls. Because we all know that is what we are really talking about.

I saw a post by Islesfan a few weeks ago where he stated that his biggest source of pride was the "sheer number" of people he has driven away.

So I guess you have to decide whether this board should be a growing, vibrant community of Knicks fans, or if it should be Islesfan's toilet.

I was just pointing that out because you spend a lot of time in your other post talking about how disrespectful he is to the mods, then use that as your main example. That was extremely misleading.

And I don't know, I'm confused. You call him out on "insulting them (UltimateKnicks posters) and generally bringing down every conversation to the level of name-calling." Then you go on to call him a cancer with no purpose here who feels very low about himself despite his quest to mean something in life. You call him a constant hardon, an ass-hole, an ass kisser. In fact, you devote an entire long post to insulting and undermining him.

when in doubt...pull the "you called x a racist once" card.

Use you brain and ignore or leave and take a break.

Ignore feature will case more discontinuity.

What would work is a self policing feature.

If users deem a post(er) rude/inapproprate they flag it.

Then a bunch can be done from there...

Ban from thread, forum for 24 hours?

I have been baited into "being warned" status. And it reminded me to ban myself.

But in the end, I don't think it's possible.

Programming it may be beyond mandrew's capability.
