It's amazing how desperate some people are to find anything positive that they've lowered expectations to unfathomable lows. Now it's supposed to be a positive if the Knicks can get back to a stretch that can only be described as inconsistent. But I guess it's better than the complete laughingstock that they are now.

After 4 years, is that really what you hoped for by now? It's sad that Lovers are quibbling over shades of bad. "We're bad now, but there's a chance we could improve and be as bad as we were last year."

BTW, it stands to reason that this team is as flawed as we all think it is and will continue to be a bottom feeder just like they were last year and every year that Isiah has been here. That's the problem.

Knicks basketball was fun to watch last? That's news to me!

Bonn - please allow me to clarify. I was referring to the entertaining stretch of Knicks hoops, that occurred after Marbury was benched and returned, and prior to the injury epidemic. The MSG fans who had booed in November slowly warmed up to the team as attendance spiked.

Even David Lee made SportsCenter.

Yeah, Bonn, don't you remember? Probably December last year? A stretch of 3 or 4 games where they played basketball that didn't make you wanna puke? Come on, you must remember that!

The rest of the season is yet to be played. To suggest that we shouldn't be looking for more from this team this year is stupid. If they can get some momentum and keep playing just like they've been playing these last 2 games, then why is that such a bad thing?

There's too much Cynicism by fans for this team. Can't we still hope for this team to play up to it's potential and actually exceed the level of putrid play we've seen in the past and during the losing streak? Why be so convinced that it can't work? How about looking at the high level of play that we should aspire to. It seems to me that this is the kind of ball we all expected them to play and if they can sustain it then why be unhappy about it?

This suggests that we aren't looking for more than just some low level of inconsistent play and that's not what many of us are looking for from this team. No one is lowering the bar.

In other threads it's been suggested that this team is making a mistake by trying to win games cuz they'd only be messing up their chances to get a high draft pick. We should be demanding and expecting more from this team and that hasn't changed from the start of the year til now. One losing streak in the beginning of the season doesn't change that. The team should be working to reach the playoffs and more.

Go look it up yourself. What i've written is clear enough. Is this even an issue worth going on about, except for your desire to try and make me look bad? Get life and write something substantive yourself, instead of nitpicking others comments!

What you've written is a gigantic load of garbage. And it certainly isn't clear. The board predicted a .500 team. Consequently, we all were looking for more than the train wreck we've seen so far. So where do you get off telling mysterious ghost posters that they're stupid for saying "we shouldn't look for more from this team." Of course, if it suits you to pretend that its "you against the world," go for it. With that and you being so worried about looking bad, you must have the self-esteem of one of Qyntel's puppies.

What do you expect Earl?

Code - I'm glad you asked that question.

I expect the Knicks players to go through the standard November adjustment period to each other. Is there resentment towards Marbury? Perhaps. But there is also a clear undertstanding that as the former teacher's pet he is also being held accountable for his performance. The best part is that Stephon knows this.

I expect difficult nights on the road, where the calls are harder to get, the room service is laced with chemicals, the arenas are chilly and the skeezers provide plenty of distraction

I expect the Zach Randolph Effect to allow Eddy Curry a breather from being the only inside scoring option, which is a good thing. Zach plays without fear of making mistakes, which makes him well-suited to play in The Garden where mistakes are treated as a sign of the apocalypse.

When asked if his teammates have figured him out, Randolph said, "Some of them have," but some aren't sure of his tendencies.

"[They aren't sure] where to give me the ball, on duck-ins. I like ducking in," he said. "Just as the season goes along, we'll get it. I'm still trying to figure those guys out."

I expect some bright moments, like last night, to offer a tiny reinforcement for better basketball, as the players adjust to different rotations from last season.

I expect the same amount of bickering between Knicks fans there has been since the beginning of time. I simply would prefer that it didn't devolve into juvenile, mean-spirited pissing contests.

I expect nixluva to never change, djsu to cheer despite his angst and scratch his head in frustration when the turn it over, and killa4luv to remain brilliant. I expect martin and andrew to maintain their service to the orange and blue community

I expect the press to scuffle to explain last night and scuffle even more with sticking to basketball analysis as they attach as much personal bias to the story as they can muster

I expect to hurt when the Knicks lose and feel good when they win.

I expect the next controversy is right around the corner and everyone to run around in circles in a panic.

I expect the Knicks to make the playoffs

Seriously, what's the problem? Things are going great and just like misterearl planned.

I really hope he's enjoying all of this. He really deserves it.
