I thought Marbury played some pretty darn good defense, showed some good moves to the hoop and a few nice dishes. Were there flaws? Sure, but I don't know if he was harmful to the team tonight.

The thing that I am happy to hear, is that even with the flaws of those guys, we still had enough to win. It proves that blowout games mean nothing. When they were blown out in the first game, every one jumped on them like the roof was collapsing. Good to see that they took the blow out serious enough to come out and get a w.

Nate was great. Lee was back on his game with 14 boards. Q and Curry - we need to see better things from them.

Ira, maybe Q's offense wasn't there, but his defense was intense as all hell. I had no complaints about him. He competes his ars off.

That's the thing about Q, his D will always be there, what kills us is he shoots alot of 3s but they rarely go in. Once in awhile he will get hot, what happened to that guy that played in PHX and won the title.

Curry is still a little off but seriously do you think K.G. can bang with alternating Curry and Zack for an entire game? If the tandem can somehow pass better from the post alot of teams will be in trouble.

Michael - Boston HAD to play the first game with playoff intensity to justify the hype surrounding the big 3 stars.

The Knicks got caught with their shorts down, in pre-season mode. That is not an excuse. It just happened that way. It was one game for hysterics and panic.

The mob with the pitchforks and burning torches are disappointed for a night.

what this shows is that they took this game seriously. and it was at home so they didn't want the crowd to get on them. they had alot of motivating factors and they delivered on them. this was a high quality performance and reason to be optimistic.

the question is can they sustain this over a long period of time. that's been a big question about this team the past few years. will it change this season...at least enough to get to 41 wins and make the playoffs? time will reveal all.

I can't wait for the Balkster to return wreak havoc from the three spot. Q, Nate, Lee, Zach and the Balkster that is a lineup I would like to see on the court for some stretches. Jeffries is done

Usually I feel the same, but I'm starting to think Q is the second coming of Malik Rose

good game, knicks played defense and were somewhat efficient on offense. Nate was under control, zach outdueled garnett and Q and JJ were all over pierce and ray... not bad..

in the end, the knicks looked like they could play another quarter. celtics looked like they wanted room service...

Plus the celts bench stinks..... wow...

I said it in another thread, Q and Craw are not a good match together. Especially not with the first unit.

pros: intensity and aggressiveness
cons: perimeter defense

blowouts can happen, and this was *this close* from becoming one b/c in the first 2 quarters, kg was finding SO MANY open 3's but they missed all of them. in boston, they hit them. tonight they did not...and that gave the knicks enough life to get it to the 2nd unit, where they blitzed out boston's bench.

Interesting stats - Zach had 5 steals and Nate had 9 reb? They played tough.

What's the rationale behind putting Malik back into the game?

You think Marbury has played good offensively since the 1rst qrt? Are you checking him out now? He's been awful the second half he was 3-6fg after the first I believe since then he's gone 2-7fg. He's played 33min and only has 3ast with 4TO's. Why is it with Marbury whatever he does good last for what seems to be an infinity?

Papabear Says

Because you hate him so. You can't even say something positive about the team. Oh well everyone knows what you are about. Hate Hate and more hate

I got 2 watch the 4th quarter at a bar I was mpressed with our effort. Marbury need 2 finish better around the hoop when he got smacked by KG on the break that was ugly.

Lee looked back to normal... Nate looked great... I love fred jones defense.... malik rose should never play.

Crawford got herbed by PP....

Could be a rivalry brewing

Great effort from the team overall. They need to play this way every game. Even if they would have lost this game it would have been ok because the effort was there. That's all you can ask as a fan.

Dude, that post is about as polished of a post as any politician would come up with. It sounds like something that was prepared by the white house. I can only imagine what your post would have been had this been a loss. Did you cheer at any point during the game ?

Yep I gave props to Zach, Nate, and Chandler don't know how you missed it. I attacked Curry and Marbury and go figure those are the two players I dislike the most.

I still think Curry will play a big role on this team, Marbury is more than likely on his way out, so you may get half of your wish. Nowadays in the NBa when your a max player playing below your contract, it's only a matter of time before your traded.

Papabear Says

Marbs will get a new contract.

Yeah, I sense a rivalry brewing as well Elite, which has me excited.

Marbury was finishing better earlier in the game from what I saw, although I was only half watching the first half as I was on the phone for most of it. I think he was intimidated by KG on that play...what guard wouldn't be? Dude had 5 blocks and was playing like a beast.

C'mon su, have some faith...haha. Naw, I know what you mean about consistency, which is THE BIG question mark, I think. My sense is that this reminded me of a better version of how we played during that nice run last year. I think we can do it for 41 wins, which has been my prediction (although I'm hoping for better, but being realistic).
