Bonn - I see Lee much closer to Billy Cunningham than Bird and that's not a bad thing. Lee's athleticism resembles The Kanagroo Kid to a greater extent than Bird. Cunningham was also a grinder who made the most of his skill-set. Cunnigham's role on the champion 76ers was critical as he anchored the second unit and split time with the starters in crunch time.

Not unlike the role Lee can play with the 2007-08 Knicks.

but that's just me

earl.

with all due respect.

please do not ever let me catch you mentioning david lee's name in the same sentence as billy cunningham's.

unless david averages 26.1 points in a season.

or 13.6 rebounds.

or 6.3 assists.

billy cunningham is on my top 2 list of underrated players in the history of the nba.

along with hal greer.

Marv - I wash my mouth out with a gallon of Lemon-scented Clorox for even thinking the name Lee could be mentioned in the same sentence with the most honorable forward from The University of North Carolina.

Could anyone shoot a free-throw jumper with better style than Hal Greer?

Included in my top-three favorite games (of life) was the afternoon Clyde calmly answered a Phil Chenier elbow to the back of his neck with about five straight jumpers.

Oh, by the way, the Knicks won.

I agree re Cunningham. I love Lee's game, but he doesn't have Cunningham's talent.

Zach is our best player(most of us already knew this) and Lee is a close second when utilized properly. Many of us have growing concerns if Zach will eat into Lee's minutes but if Lee and Zach prove to mesh better I hope I SAY UGH'S pride doesn't get in the way like it usually does. I have no problem Zach and Lee chewing greatly into Curry's minutes and stardom.

If Isiah could do that, I might spend money to watch the team. No way I'm gonna spend money to watch lazy veterans like Eddy take playing time from superior young players, though.

I get the feeling that Zach's going to be pretty consistent for us and that should be a big plus. And to think Isaiah got him for Channing Frye.

I dont think itll be a problem if Curry keeps committing a foul every 3 minutes. I think between out two big men and our sixth man theyll be plenty of time to go around.

I think IT is perfectly happy with Lee and Zach in the final minutes. He often sat Curry in the final minutes last year too. Lee and Zach with Balkman is going to be a tough frontcourt.

That frontcourt will dominate the boards, but defenders will collapse on Zach.

Ira - good point. Which is why it is crucial that Lee develop some confidence in his medium range jumper.

When The Balkman returns the frontcourt gains flexibility and electricity for the 4th quarter
