1. Some people will never, ever forgive Isiah for the remarks on Larry Legend
No one gives a crap.

Posted by misterearl:

2. The smiling, confident image of Zeke is too much for some to stomach, especially the media members who would love to wipe that smile off his face
Yes, people don't like fakes. And Isiah gives the impression of being a full of crap.

3. The CBA Thing
Not a great thing on his resume, but No one gives a crap.

Posted by misterearl:

4. He's from Chicago, played for Detriot and is considered an "outsider"
No one gives a crap.
Posted by misterearl:

5. You never know what he is really thinking, which is exactly the way he played point guard. Ergo, "he's a liar"
If he lied and delivered, No one would give a crap.
Posted by misterearl:

5. He kissed Magic on national tv. Yucky.
No one gives a crap.
Posted by misterearl:

6. The idea of an African American as President of anything still makes some people squirm
No one gives a crap.
Posted by misterearl:

7. He gave too many guys too much money, even though it ain't his money
FINALLY, YES! And in spite of all your propaganda to the contrary, IT DOES MATTER!

Posted by misterearl:

8. He hired and fired a bunch of head coaches, including the honorable Don Chaney, who Letterman cajoled a laugh about
Yes, are you dismissing this as well? Nevermind Chaney, he hired TWO HOF coaches and fired each within a year. Is that the sign of a good executive?
Posted by misterearl:

9. He was Dolans second choice but Magic turned the gig down
No one gives a crap.
Posted by misterearl:

10. He hasn't done the job quickly enough
On the contrary, he's done "the job" quite quickly, and the job is screwing the cap.

Posted by misterearl:

11. Anucha
No one gives a crap.

None of which have a damn thing to do with Knicks basketball or the fact that Wilson Chandler is the next Mayor
For the most part. Most of them have nothing to do with basketball, so why are you bringing them up? As for Chandler, I hope you are right, but what if you are not? Are you going to spin that too?

some of these posts blaming frye's performance on the fans are really leaving me shaking my head. people really believe it is the fans' responsibility to determine how these guys perform? cheering consistently and somewhat inanely in the face of the team playing like crap is required if we want these guys to turn into good nba players????? wtf?????

The thing that is beyond funny is, Frye didn't even get 1/8 of the pressure the fans could have gave his butt. I thought fans were nice to him especially since it was clear to everyone that has normal vision and to Steven Wonder that Lee out played him. The fans were beyond nice to this Frye Guy. Had this been anyone else but Frye in the lineup they probably would have gotten their legs broke by the fans.

I have been pleading with the forum faithfull to join me on my back yard bully crusade on that "frye guy"(I like that.)He is gone thank the saints!

On an unrelated note: Classic sports replayed the Knicks/Pacers game one of the 1995 playoffs the other day(you know the one we don't like to talk about). There were two plays that stuck out in my mind.

1.) A shot comes off the rim, Mason and Charles Oakley stand and watch as Antonio Davis knifes in between them for a rebound. Boo's reign down from the garden rafters. Two plays later Oakley dives head first into the Pacer's bench to save a loose ball.

2.) Charles Smith gets a rebound and outlets to John Starks. John Starks is one on one with Reggie Miller with two Pacers trailing. The Knicks are on a run and the garden is rocking. Starks instead of taking Reggie to the hoop pulls up for a three pointer. Boo's reign down from the garden rafters. Starks is taken out of the game and Hubert Davis is brought back in. Upon Starks' return he proceeds to go hell bent to the basket on his first possession.

Fans in New York understand the flow of the game. They will boo you if you are a good team and they will boo you if you are a bad team. Those players that take it personal will not make it in New York. That is why GM"s need to be mindful when they draft and trade and sign players. This isn't Chicago or Detroit or UTah. This is NY and this is the way it will always be. The mentally strong players hear the boo's, they hate the boo's and will do whatever it takes to perform and eliminate the boo's. They don't take it personal, they use it as motivation. The mentally weak players take the boo's personally and let it affect their play. Those players(like Ed Whitson) do not belong in NY. That's life and it isn't going to change. New Yorkers like hustle and grit, and intensity and smart play. IF they don't see it they will boo. It will never change.
I just hope that people will like me

Thank You Panos

>>Yes, people don't like fakes. And Isiah gives the impression of being a full of crap.

The "impression" (image) , and the shaping of perception is EXACTLY what the discussion is about

Thank you for helping build my case

My reasons are solely performance based.
Matters not to me the color of his skin or if he tongued down Magic or Rodman for that matter. My problem with him is not even so much as mistakes, as the fact that we will have to deal with them for many years to come. I could live with short term mistakes, but its the 5 year deals to JJ1, JJ2, picking up Q's long term contract with a bad back (and I LIKE Q as a player), Malik, ZBo's long term contract, etc. those are my problem.
You can say as much as you like that these things don't matter, but that's where we disagree. As far as I'm concerned these will hold us back for years.

^^^ to be fair, misterearl, you're taking it way out of context. Panos followed up the original quote with:

Once again, avoiding my serious points because you have no answer so you latch onto a side comment. I just said three posts up what my problem with him as a GM is.
Grow up.

As you said, Isiah has come in and changed the culture, we see a team with guys who seem to like each other and will fight for one another, guys who will play with that chip on their shoulders and handle their business like men, and I am referring to guys like lee, balkman, collins, Q to name a few, but it seems that people will take the likes of nates antics and make them indicative of what things are under Isiah and that is unfair. Again with all this young talent and high paid veterans, where will this lead us? who knows, but I like what we have right now..

was there in house fighting before isiah came here? was there quit from the roster of the 2002/2003 season? what bad culture did isiah have to change? please explain.

Yea, JVG and grunfeld fought, resulting in a good GM going elsewhere, as far as the roster from 2002/2003 hard to tell, but as someone mentioned, we had a 6'9 guy playing center. The culture around here was sick, we were aging and overpaid with really no hope for the future, layden unfairly had the hopes of this franchise resting on the bad and surgically repair knees of mcdeyse, we were hopeless man.... How about the time the nets clobbered Tim Thomas? who stood up for Tim, now don't tell me tim Thomas was a scrub, or a fool or you didn't like him. he was a teamate and a knick.

Since Zeke is in NY he is doing patching job. Right?
Any patching job sooner or later ends up with collapse
This is just a matter of time.
It was a perfect situation this spring to get read of Isiah and his band of brothers and start building the team. He did his job and it was time to go.
But another idiot decided that IT can do more than just scouting...
Well... He will pay the price. And he already started with Zack
Unfortunately fans will also pay the price. But at least they will start saving money on the Garden tickets. No good thing without bad thing.

Why do you do this? There are times when you start to sound a bit more rational about how this team is being developed and then you go off the deep end like this.

Yeah Isiah has been trying to fix the mess this team was when he got it and no matter which direction he would've taken it was going to take a good while to fix. 3.5 years is not very long to perform the kind of major surgery this team needed. It's taken some teams 6 or more years and they still haven't gotten to the promised land. This team is much closer today than it has been in a long time. We'll learn more about what Isiah is thinking at the end of this month. Until then we need to be a bit less ready to bash him. This can turn around really quickly and there's a good chance this is the year when it really pops off.

I am rational when you and other IT/Dolan/Marbs lovers are rational.
When you start bullsheeting I am not with you.
The people mentioned above are egocentric morans and they deserve non of my simpathy
They harm my team in so many ways that no matter what they do they cannot get me back.
3.5 years is enough for me to see what this guys want and that they should have no business with NY Knicks.
But the sad reality is they are in charge.
So all I have to do is to make as much harm to them as possible all over the Internet
And I will...

arkrud - sticks and stones may break their bones, but your internet rantings will not change a damn thing about the Knickerbockers. As a matter of fact, if you stay your course you may find that you sway voters to the other side. The orange and blue side.

Channing Frye and Zach Randolph will match up on February 1st.

By that time Wilson Chandler will be looking for a running mate as Mayor

arkrud - do you have an entertaining point about Knicks basketball you are trying to put into English? Preferably something beyond the juvenile if that's okay with you...

The million dollar question bigSmOOth is:

Q... how does 24 and 10 mesh with 20 and 7 and the unexpected campaign contributions of Mayoral Candidate Wilson Chandler?

dj, all you need to know about Mayoral Candidate Chandler is that he's only 20 years old and already has a broader vocal range than the dearly departed Trevor Ariza

and I like(d) Trevor Ariza
