TMS, your post is completely on point. The real problem is not what he said but that he said anything at all. It is truly amazing how people refuse to see anything negative about a career loser who has not produced anything for us other than talk and frequent episodes of going starbury. We pay 21 Million a year for this guy to give "exclusive interviews" to the nedia. May be someone can do the math and tell us how much each of those words are costing us because he ain't produced nothin else.

He's in the news because he's out selling his product which makes him accessible to the media and the like. The media is using this to ask him questions about relevant NBA news. And Marb answers the questions. Could he say "No comment" and only answer questions related to his Starbury product? Sure, I guess. But I didn't see anything wrong with what he said this time.

That's a better question. Why is Berman so tight with Marbury? He draws media coverage mostly to do with his status on the team and then his sneakers promotion, beat writers follow him and he stays in the NY area. You add them all up and I think you should get your answer.

Berman is so tight with Marbury because like 2 different Ny writers have pointed out Berman has sold away objectivity in exchange for access. Larry Brooks did the same thing with Bobby Holik. It looks like the way the NY Post operates.

We were complaining about Marbs opening his mouth with nothing to say... and just always making headlines, when nobody wants to hear him anymore. Papabear is perhaps getting a bit carried away, but those sort of sentiments surface when one sees a campaign waged against Marbury where he is called everything from a retard to a cancer.

I know everyone feels justified for one reason or the other, but last I checked he is still wearing orange and blue, he is coming off a really good year, and he was granted a very strong piece in the form of a productive power forward.

If you guys want to use this board as a "first wives club" or sorts where people can vent their spleen and indict Marbury over past sins, fine; Marbury has a checkered past that is defined by his self-created disappointments. It just sucks that all it takes is a few losing season for NY fans to jump ship and turn into insufferable, whiny, a-holes.

Seriously since when does being a good soldier 75% of the season equal a player's best season when he's supposed to be a good soldier 100% of the season while at the same time producing statistically better than his previous yrs and producing more wins than his previous yrs = a player's best season as a pro?

Then again this is the PARADOX of the LOVERS. The Larry Brown era never happened when you want to compare I SAY UGH'S tenure as GM looking at the team's record from yr to yr but did happen when you want to stoop to the lowest of standards and compare last yr to Brown's one yr here or compare a player such as Steph stat's/season as a player last yr to the yr prior.

ok, i apologize for the name calling... that wasn't necessary... but there's a BIG difference between inference of racism when someone posts legitimate arguments against a player like Marbury who has made idiotic statements to the media & never lived up to them, to inference of racism when individuals make suggestions that Yi & his handlers should know their place or go back to the country where they came from.
