Panos - what don't you like about the direction the Knicks are going in?
Not the individual transactions, but the "direction"?
I'm not sure you can divorce the direction from the transactions.
There have been lots of moves that Isiah has made that have made me
pull my hair out. I don't want to list them again, unless you need me too.
But things like grossly overpaying, and duplication of talents in place of filling
needs and building a "team".
I was fooled yet again that perhaps discipline had been instilled until the Randolph
trade. But once again, we've pushed back the horizon to cap-sanity. Was the trade
good from a talent perspective, absolutely hands-down. However, from a chemistry
perspective (I wanted a rugged enforcer) and from a cap situation, I am not so sure.
I am not sure we have any true "direction". It seems to change every 6 months.
I love the Knicks. However, I don't love a single one of the high priced players
on this team. Marbury, Curry, Zach, Crawford, Malik, can all go as far as I'm concerned.
That is really a dilemma as a fan. Loving a team, and not liking the players on it.
Now Lee and Balkman, I can get behind. EVEN NATE. He may be stupid, but he plays with
passion.
Then there is the issue of the #23 pick this year. I hope this kid ends up being great,
I really do. But we'll see...
