Starters: C-Eddy Curry vs. Kurt Thomas PF-Channing Frye vs. Othella Harrington SF-Quentin Richardson vs. Latrell Sprewell SG-Jamal Crawford vs. Allan Houston PG-Stephon Marbury vs. Charlie Ward Bench: C-Jerome James vs. Michael Doleac PF-David Lee vs. Clarence Weatherspoon SF-Jared Jeffries vs. Lee Nailon SG-Nate Robinson vs. Lavor Postell PG-Steve Francis vs. Howard Eisley Simple and objective. Let me know if I made any roster errors. I put Jeffries over Balkman on the basis of minutes played, which is fair. Maybe at some point, we can try this on one of those basketball simulation sites.

McDyess was damaged goods when he left Denver and more damaged when he was rushed back into action early in the season. His ability to run and jump was never the same in New York and NEVER approached the level of how he played earlier in his Denver playoff years.

Latrell was more than simply athletic. He had a rare blend of streak shooter mixed with the intuition of when to pick his spots. Spree also could D-up, a quality which people forget as he was forced to play the three spot with HOuston at the two. He played taller than his 6'5 frame and played tough.

Shandon Anderson was a turnover waiting to happen and did not finish at the hoop well at all.

When we got him he was coming off of knee surgery. Not micro-fracture surgery, just a blown out knee. Guys like Kobe have had similar and still play at a remarkable level.

Anyway, if you'd seen McDyess in preseason before he blew out his other knee you'd know how good he was looking.

Allan Houston was damaged goods when Isiah got here. That didn't stop him from trying to build with him and Marbury.

Have to disagree on McDyess's health. He was awesome in preseason before his injury and his knee was fully healed. He injured his knee differently during a freak collision with Othella, I believe. Prior to that, he had all of his explosiveness. No defense of Layden, but McDyess wasn't entirely damaged goods. In fact, he was healthier than Camby, who was more damaged goods than Dice.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Ain't no such thing as a knee that is fully healed. Once the joint starts to deteriorate or is damaged ... it's not like the tissue is able to regenerate itself. McDyess was not explosive as a Knick player. He did manage to adjust his game but the dunks, and blocked shots, were few and very far between.

then again...

I'm no doctor, and I don't play on on tee vee.... but I did bump into McDyess at Denver International one night on the people mover...

McDyess definitely looked back to his explosive self in his first pre-season with the Knicks. I remember him abusing Duncan in the post and I was thinking we were a lock to rep the East. One freak accident later and here we are...

Camby was broken down as a knick physically and mentally. His first year in Denver was mixed.

His contract year he magically healed and played with intensity.

To his credit he has lived up to his contract. IM happy he found success in Denver were he could not in NYC. Nene is only now starting to find his place and be healthy.

Layden took a gamble and almost pulled it off. It happens.

Dice has returned to be a nice roll player.

If marbury could be a contributing roll player on a winning team than a failed superstar on a sub playoff team it would be an improvement.

That was some profound sh!t spoken right there.
