The only difference being that when Isiah first came here, Islesfan predicted we would perform worse with him than with Layden. And to this day he has been right. Misterearl hasn't been right about a damned thing.

Like that was a hard prediction. The team was old, overpaid, starting to decline, and needed to be rebuilt. Yes how in the world did he ever make that prediction.

Funny but I don't remember too many people making that same prediction so I guess it was a lot harder than you think. Or you just refuse to give me any credit. Or more likely both.

Big Cat descending opinion are always welcomed...If there was no descending opinion then debate here will be pointless and this would be a boring forum...I come here to debate and share opinions about our favorite team..It's just the one sided, railroad act that has become overbearing...When even the positives get criticized, you loose me...When you are wishing the team lose for no other reason than your dislike of management, you loose me...For that matter, you loose credibility in my eyes...but that's just me, one guy, one opinion...Isle's is a passionate dude that brings a lot to this board..At times it's just too much..It so predictable and at times pointless to read...Seems like a good enough dude tho..Just that the rants are just that...Rants...Oh well...onward...

I get what you are saying, but the word you are looking for is "dissenting".

How come you don't find Misterearl's act tired? Is it because you agree with him? I guess that's simple enough, but Earl is even more predictable, pointless, one-sided and repetitive than Isles is.

Misterearl has no cred whatsoever because he's the biggest fair-weather fan on this board. He's almost always absent after they lose. But then he shows up to boast after wins. Real fans care about their team whether they win or not.

Thanks for the word bro,ur right, dont know what I was thinking...anyway Misterearl is a fan and most fans come the cheer their team...Fans look for the positives in everything, even Big Turd...They hope every player on their team can be all stars...They get down after a loss and always ready to cheer for the next game..Definition of a fan...Misterearl is just that and thats cool with me...I look at the positives as well...Takes me some time to get negative but I try to be positive until I have a reason to be negative...If I was around during Layden, you guys would have thought I was a hater...But I always rooted for the team, and spewed hatred towards Layden and Dolan... I dropped my subscription to Cablevision because of Dolan...At Cablevision's office, I told them to tell Dolan fire Layden and sell the team or I won't be back...They thought I was nuts..But when you are rooting for the team to lose, I don't get that...

That's a great question eViL. Why is missesearl's "act" (along with a few others) tolerated and commended but other's who aren't the "rah rah everything is great and nothing is ever wrong" are picked on and told that they aren't "real" fans? Even though the latter are right, a hell of a lot more often than the former.

it's the former definition of fan. as blue said earlier, with all the info, the analysis, the "inside" stuff, the talk radio, and messageboards at our fingertips today...the fan has "evolved" into a much more educated animal about the game. this, in turn, results in fans becoming much more critical as well. the days of just sitting back and just cheering are slowly fading.

nobody came to watch the cap play in 1995, 1985, and 1975 b/c nobody knew about the cap in 1995, 85, and 75. but it's now 2007.

just like watching the matrix about 7 years ago had everyone wide eyed and going gaga...make that movie again today and those same special effects are now just a footnote.

And to a sensible and logical post like this, missesearl would typically respond with:

"It ain't your money"

But these are the types of posts and posters that some of these people want to commend, because they think that adds something of great value to the forum.

jessedark - i just want to point out that this thread was a bait thread again and it has degenerated into world war 4.

you are the devil.

Never was my intent. My intent was to acknowledge mistereal for seeing through all the b.s. that is/was being but forth in the original thread. Sometimes you can start a thread and feel left out on an island. I acknowledge him for sticking to what he believes is right. No matter how much hate and "fox news" style analysis is put out there the bottom line is the Knicks are in a better place than they were a year ago. Look the Knicks ain't what we want them to be and ain't what they ought to be but they also ain't what they used to be.
The cliche about crawling before you walk is in place and sure enough a lot of guys will be swearing that they have always been down for the Knicks when all they do is b i t c h.

Wow, that's a load of crap.

This has nothing to do with where the Knicks are and where anybody wants them to be. And it certainly isn't about missesearl sticking to what he believes to be right, because he apparently believes in 2 completely opposite ideas. One, that the salary cap is meaningless hence, it ain't your money, and two, that dropping big contracts off the cap "should help".

Let's be clear, missesearl is avoiding the question because he knows he contradicted himself which proves that he's full of crap.

Thats is part of the problem. IMO this has turned into nothing but a hissy fit. I originally started this thread to give props to misterearl for the way he stayed on topic in the original thread because he has a view on the Knicks that I agree with.

Would you have started this thread if you didn't agree with Earls view? I doubt it.

I don't see you giving props to Islesfan for standing his ground in countless threads, but why not? Just because you don't agree with his view? It shouldn't work that way.

Well how about you give props to Isles and let Jesse give props to misterearl?

Why has it turned into a "hissy fit"?

Because misterearl refuses to explain his comment that lowering your salary cap "should help" when it seemingly contradicts a statement that he repeats constantly whenever anybody brings up the Knicks salary cap.

It never had to get to this. All he had to do was answer a very simple and harmless question.

How about I could care less who gets props. I was using Isles as an example to point out that a thread like this is stupid and asking for a flame war.

How about nobody receives props but we all ask misterearl why he's backing off a statement that he's used to dismiss a majority of the posters on this board.

Is Earl the poster who agreed with ISAYUGH in that no games are must wins to this point or was that Nixluva?

Nice hottie shot of Amerie dj. The misterearl thread steering committee thanks you.

Dang, now Lee is out until April?

Shut him down and come back stronger next season with Jamal fully healed as well.

Marv - I thought it was a tribute to the power of non-violent protest. Or at least the power of the not-so-subliminal "speak to the hand" diss.

Either way Marv, what should be the deal with Lee in your opinion?

oh well, I better start deleting any posts for Thursday, just in case the Knicks lose, so I can keep my designation as a "fair-weather" fan.

sheesh
