So is Philly not a tired team considering they played Boston yesterday and have been on essentially a 8 man rotation their past 5 gms or so? I'm just tired of hearing excuses when this team puts out pathetically.
I dont know why I am giving you an explanation. It might have to do with you talking basketball instead of a stupid cheap shot. They might be tired or might not. I said the Knicks look tired. Its your fault for thinking I am making an excuse. They shouldn't be tired. Our core players are too young to be tired. They should work on their conditioning.

Let me ask you this. What are you thinking? Do you think they look tired or you think they plain suck?

They don't look tired, but they do look out of sync with each other. I mean Jamal, Lee, Balkman and even Frye look crisp as expected to be. Their defense is atrocious like it usually is especially at the rim.

The thing is, Eddy avoids the strong side, Frye has a little more arc and Lee gets a little closer on every other night. It just seems like they are out of gas because I dont think this group will come out not ready to play. This is just embarrasing though.

Philly is up on adrenaline. Maybe amphetamines...

We just have to get up for the next game. Jeffries will be back then as well.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Thats what I was thinking. Get Iggy out unless he wants to be suspended.

But what players look tired to you? You're being very vague and make a sweeping statement. Jamal looked like typical Jamal, Lee has double digits in rebounding a basket away from a double double. Balkman is everywhere, making a ton of hustle plays. Francis has found a rythm it seems like. Frye was knocking down jumpers early. Eddy has been taken out of games recently by the refs according to some, so it's not like he's logged ridiculous minutes these past few games besides that OT game. I just don't get who's tired. Once again why does Philly look fresh?

The Sixers wanted this game more - that's all there is to it. Isiah is a pretty good motivator but we keep stinkin' up against bad teams.

And Channing Frye shoud be ashamed of himself allowing that no-legged Webber to do what he did tonight.

There's certainly a talent differential between the best and the worst team in the league, but for the large majority in the middle of the pack it's really not about having the right "system", style of play, rotation, proper minutes etc. It's motivation, hot streaks and knowing how to close out close games.

Whether it's fatigue or deflation from back to backs against the hottest team then the worst I don't know, but the knicks just didn't seem to have "it" tonight. They probably are tired but that's just another form of adversity teams need to fight through, especially if they want to go on win streaks.

Problem is our guys have played equally flat when fatigue wasn't a factor, so who knows what gets in these guys heads.

One thing that doesn't help is when the head coach starts inserting excuses even before tragedy strikes, like...... saying his players will fall flat on their face if they keep playing these minutes, saying this game was an off game because the players are thinking about the holiday and their families, saying Philly is the worst team in the league and his team may have a hard time getting up for the game, saying they have to make a transition to start playing some road games, saying his team needs some days off. Mike Breen mentioned all of this during the telecast tonight.

When the team wins, it's all good, you hear nothing but tumbleweeds.

I agree.

Powerforward99, on another board made what I thought was a good point a couple of weeks ago. Maybe Isiah should stand the entire game on the sidelines to set the tone of intensity and involvement. Many coaches have done this, like JVG.

Would high expectations from our coach be such a bad thing?
