I think Mr. EArl thinks anytime you talk about an organizational philosophy he narrows it down to you hating Isiah. Isiah is just part of this. It started with us not recognizing that we needed to start over after Ewing 7 years ago. Instead of starting over we tried to build around a flawed core, trying to convince ourselves we were a player away from a title. Not realizing that the player we were looking for was Ewing in his prime. We threw money at flawed players while ignoring the fact that our star was gone. This philosophy was perpetuated by Layden and continued by IT. Now we are finally realizing after 7 years that we can't operate this way(hopefully). Now it's time to decide on what we are trying to build and only focus on targeting players that fit that mold. Eradicate excuses(it's not a cliche when you say only losers make excuses, it's utter fact), stop with the talk and focus on winning. And when you lose, admit your weaknesses without shame or fear that it means you are "hating" and go about finding ways to fix them. This is more than IT. I am not an Isiah hater. He was my favorite player. I wear 11 to this day because of him. But I'm not a child and will not support someone blindly. Isiah needs to continue along the new path and stop all the nonsense. No more excuses.
For the record this is not hindsight 20/20 situation for me. Anyone that has been posting with me since the MSG days knows I've been saying this same thing since the days of Allan Houston and Spree when we were actually making the playoffs. We keep wondering why we don't win. We keep wondering why stars come here and fail. I keep explaining why. Yet we keep wondering.
