My observations:

1.) I'm glad it's over

2.) Obviously hiring Isiah was not part of a long-term plan so as of this moment we are again starting from scratch. Hopefully we can make moves to move forward.

3.) GM and coach? When has this been successful? I will be rooting for Zeke to do well but it frustrates me to know end that once again we are placing a coach in position to fail.

4.) If the team does poorly Isiah will be fired. We all know this. The players know this too. They once again have a built in excuse. Great!!

5.) This upsets me for one reason. Once again it shows that the Knicks have no long-term plan or are once again adjusting one.

6.) Dragging this out had nothing to do with the team and everything to do with Dolan's wallet.

7.) If Isiah is fired who the hell will ever coach here? I can understand wanting Larry out but what NY fan in their right mind would think the way this is handled is a good thing.

8.) Stephon is the only player on this roster without a built in excuse.

9.) Just once I'd like to see us hire a proven winner at GM or coach or both and stick to a long-term plan instead of making trades based on the current record.

10.) Can we do anything as an organization with dignity? My guess is no.

From the Daily News article:

"According to sources, the Knicks have told Brown they are not going to pay him the full $40 million he is owed over the last four years of his deal. Sources indicate that the Knicks are going to allow NBA commissioner David Stern to arbitrate what compensation is owed to the Hall of Fame coach."

I bet David Stern is looking forward to this task.

no matter how you guys look at it, LB was not going to change and the roster wasn't going to be changed to his liking next year.
Dolan wanted specific assurances from Brown that he would change his behavior, both publicly and privately. When Brown wavered, Dolan decided to fire him.

It would have been another 23 win season, bickering and another year of being the laughing stock.

With Zeke seemingly put in a no win situation, and new york loving underdogs and zeke always performing when in an underdog role, I'm even more optimistic than I was should LB have stayed.

I think the city is going to embrace these lovable losers.

It's going to be an extremely exciting season, every win will be more than last year...I mean, we lost 3 out of 4 games...and most of them at the end of the season were misery.

It's going to be fantastic...I hope zeke coaches summer league...that way he'll know what we got.

I knew zeke was going to coach this bunch all along, he's always wanted to coach, but LB came out of nowhere and that was simply a no brainer (we all thought it, so don't act like you didn't, with the exception of the 1 or 2 guys, but everyone else was like YEAH LB!!)

This will be more about winning and less about politics.

More winning, less whining.

Gonna be quite the season...and it's going to be interesting seeing who the true knick fans are and who is really just rooting against the team because of their obsession with hating Isiah.

This current season there was a kid that was rooting for the knicks to lose to the celtics and he was banned...come mods, let's keep this ultimate knicks and not IHateZeke.com

What city is going to embrace a team with guys that don't give 100% or play defense? Ready for some Fire Thomas chants?

LOL. Coach Thomas wants to play young guys while GM Thomas brings in all vets, I can see it now.

I think there are a lot of fans that think we were good before LB got here and that he just ruined the train that was headed to the finals. Nothing has changed here since the Shanvis Knighteacard Eisleyspoonington III days.

Isiah's Pacers repeatedly made the headlines for malfunctioning.

Artest even made the cover of SI. caption: "Is he crazy?"

this years memorable cover - "Marbury: Is he coachable?"

What has IT done to let us believe in him? 3 coaches have failed with Marbury at the core of their roster.

Curry, Frye, David Lee, Nate Robinson, Jamal Crawford, Jackie Butler, Quentin Richardson.

Quit believing LB and the media, we're stacked and young and they will all have had a year under their belts, for pete's sake, 3 of them were ROOKIES.

Go root for the nets.

You say fully accountable, I say will get full credit for the success that follows.

now Isiah can finally be held FULLY accountable for the roster he put together, & Marbury will finally have to answer to a higher authority than him for a change... i'm actually a little eager to see how this all plays out.

It's ironic because if you take Curry out of the mix the guys you listed were the only guys to play hard for Larry all year long. Don't remember Larry bashing that group.

LB & the media has nothing to do with why there are 7 teams in the East better than NY right now and 3 more that will be around vying for the 8.

I'm with you Rich, he should even pay back what he received. And you better believe that Stern still remembers about the Olympic gold we lost.

The players are getting everything they ask for. As a group they now have no reason not to perform. They wanted Isiah. His system will be player friendly. It's time to perform. Unfortunately if they don't perform Isiah will be fired and the players once again will be let off the hook. Take your hatred for LB out of the equation and be a Knicks fan for a minute. How can this be a good situation?

What's the plan if Isiah is fired? What's the plan if Isiah decides he doesn't want to coach? What's the plan if the players quit on zeke? What's the plan if we are close to the playoffs and are a rugged rebuilding PF away from making the first round? What's the plan? Who are we building around? What type of player are we targeting? How do our players compliment each other? What type of team are we building? Running or post play?

Enough of this idiotic obsession with LB. This situation is no different than Lenny and Don and Herb. For once I'd like to see a coherent plan because right now I don't see one.

I think it's possible that Marbury will be traded. Dolan hates it when his employees air their grievances in the media. He can't be happy with Marbury's role in what has transpired.

Wow...

B Tierney on 1050 ESPN:

Larry Brown met with Mills, Dolan, etc. and asked about what players would be "deleted" from the roster, and Dolan said enough you're fired.
