History tells us that Brazil don't perform when they are favourites. According to the press here, they opened their last training session to the press, as if to say `here we are, this is what we can do, try and stop us`. Its tough to see them failing. Unless the team doesn't gel.

I'm rooting for them for one reason. How can you not support a team that so obviously enjoys its football, and makes it look so good?

Prediction 3-2 to Brazil, kaka man of the match.

Ronaldo looks fat and slow..I wouldn't be surprised if he's replaced with one of the young players on the bench who would start on any other team. Thank god for KAKA, Ronaldinho & Roberto Carlos!

Well what a goal! Sublime skill from Kaka. Ronaldo looks disinterested out there. Bring on Robinho.

Brazil wins, but it wasn't their best game.

Could've just as easily been a 4 - 0 win for Brazil

Exactly, hence the "should have" stuff doesnt really mean much.

Not at all man! Ronaldo is actually very skilled and has won at every single level he played at. His teammates like him and the fans love him. The problem is that he is coming off an injury and is outta shape. Brazil does not win if Ronaldo plays like he played today.

Wow. Spain beat the Ukraine convincingly 4-0, without breaking a sweat. They look like real contenders. Well done darkknicks. Im happy coz Reyes didnt play. And Fabregas contributed in his limited time on the field.

Er... I don't know in Brazil because I don't live there, but he plays for Real Madrid and people have been booing him since last year because he "does not care". HE is the best forward when he is in top form, but I haven't seen him at the highest level for a LONG time. Also he has been out of shape since 2003/2004. In Spain people call him "El gordo" -> "The fat one".
About the USA team, I just watched the second half and I honestly expected more from them, but anyway I'm sure they can do much better than that, so there's still some hope.

Did anyone watch Spain? The ref really did us a favor with that penalty, but anyway I'm impressed with our performance. The last goal was incredible! Way to go!

Hahaha. We were lucky by scoring a goal so early and as I said before, I am impressed with the game we played (since 1994 I have almost no faith in our team). Anyway, you know, Spanish press will start now claiming we are the best (typical Spanish) but I hope the team stays focuseda and keeps doing their job. Our group is definately one of the weakest ones.

Oh man that is not good! Then what are the idiots in the media talking about best Brazilian team ever?! because Ronaldo was amazing 4yrs ago when he was 25 and in shape? The 2002 & even 98 team was better. I'm sure they'll get better each game but I dont know. If Adriano doesn't step up Brasil is in trouble because Ronaldo is worthless

Well, Brazil may have their best team ever, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Adriano, Roberto Carlos, Robinho, etc... is just not Ronaldo. Anyway, even being out of shape, Ronaldo is still one of the best, if not the best, players in the world. Look, this was probably his best goal ever when he was playing for F.C. Barcelona in 1998 and he was 21 years old.

He can't do that anymore, but he can win you a game if he gets the chance.
