this, of course, is pure speculation but acquiring francis is what i would call a "time-shift asset". nothing of real value was available for AD's and penny's expiring deal this year. but the problem is that in isiahnomics, expiring deals are a BIG part of talent acquisition. therefore they can't just expire. hence the francis deal. gives us an ASS-et to move at a later date and time. with all the rumors of francis to denver or memphis, i'm thinking (HOPING) that jerry west or kiki had some sort of discussions with lb/isiah about francis. something like "hey, we want francis but we can't give orlando what they want. if you guys get him, then maybe we can do something this summer."

anything from a bball point of view makes zero sense for francis to be here.

Honestly I started my post before you last post hit the board, I ran off the answer a call then sent my post...that being said, you keep bringing the Knicks desension which only occured this year with Marbs and Larry..you are also acting like it something unique to this organization...not true...Most NBA teams have issues internally between coaches and players...between players themsleves...Stop trying to paint the Knicks as an organization that has not been able to control it's players until Larry got here....

Player control, does not always mean internal fighting. Dennis Rodman fouhgt with the Bulls everyday, but he had no control. Our players have had control over our organization for years. Evidence can be seen in the salaries they are handed and the fact that we keep firing coach's every other year thus letting it be known that even though we say the right things we really do blame the coach for al that has occurred.

The Patrick Ewing trade was a direct result of a a player revolt and a GM that bought into the notion that we got to where we got because of Latrell and Camby and not Patrick and the structure of our roster. It's been that way ever since.

I'm older than most here. I was alive and remember the days of Don Chaney and Lenny Wilkens and Herb Williams. Most of you guys have been born after that so don't really know that those players complained about rotations and substitutions and timeouts back then too. Coach's got fired for that too. I remember the term "whisperers". I remember that being the title of about 80 articles. Lot's of you guys weren't alive for that but I remember it very well becuase I was alive. Well the "whisperers" won and the coach got axed. It's going in that direction again, just different "whisperers".

Holfresh and oohahh always seem to think I am talking to them. Never seen people more arrogant than me.

You still haven't.
Get over yourselves already, I was making a general point. And it's funny how in my last post I specifically mentioned LB and said he did an awful job this season, yet you still think I am making excuses not to blame him? Honestly, what the he-ll is wrong with you guys. This has happened 15 to 20 times in the past week. It can only be one of three things: You don't read, you can't read, or you are messing with me. If you're messing with me I have to say it is very funny.

Bippity, you should go back and read your own posts more carefully.

While in the past month and change you have finally admitted that Brown has done badly, you always qualify it with a "but".

Check out the Steve Francis thread. You write that Brown did a bad job, BUT he had to do it this way to "weed out the fugazys". There is always a "BUT"! You do defend and excuse him with the "but". So spare me please.

Anyway, I don't have time to argue with you today, so feel free to exaggerate and fabricate what I have written in response to you or about LB all you like.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Oohaah and I still stand by it. My complaint with Herb and Lenny is consistent. And those that have posted with me for the past few years know that I have said the same thing. Even when they were here and at their worst I had a "but" attached to them as well. Why? Because I knew they would be fired, the fans would be happy and NOTHING WOULD CHANGE. I'm saying the same thing now, it's just some people on this site are too slow to figure out that it's been the same friggin think over and over and over again.

So allow me to sum it up by saying, LB did an awful job this year(I've said it so many times it amazes me that some are saying that I'm just admitting it-it's borderline weird), BUT somebody had to make a change and I applaud that. Thank you LB for having the guts to stand up to the nonsense and make a change. For that I worship you!!!!!!! Keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!

this whole situation was made to blow up in new york's face. i mean, you've got steph on the team, no front court. so what? let's go out and get jamal crawfod, jalen rose, steve francis, and draft nate robinson. five two guards, should solve all our problems right? wait, just in case, let's bring in a coach with a philosophy which has no chance of working with our current personell. wow, recipe for disaster. everybody, players included, had to ride through a horrible season, and all the "fans" can do is whine and complain constantly about how horrible of a job everybody is doing. we all know steph isn't perfect, but neither is larry, and neither is anybody else. including the fans. hindsight is always 20/20. instead of constantly whining about how it should have been, maybe let steph play his game? the only reason he's in the league is because he loves the game. that's pure. don't forget that the little kid who grew up in coney island loving basketball is still in there somewhere. and he's ready to play.

I haven't read all of the posts here, as I just realized that Marbury "promised" to say something big at the end of the season, but this sounds crazy.

What exactly does he hope to accomplish? If he blasts Brown he will get just as blasted by all those who see Marbs as a bigger problem, and right now that seems to be the overwhelming majority of Knick fans, according to those recent (unscientific, I should add) polls.

I am very curious as to what he is going to say. Sadly, it is only this type of reality show drama that keeps fans entertained these days.

I'd bet anything that Isiah's been massaging his soul and has had the PR department script something warm and "heartfelt" for him that will sound like he's really had the best interest of the team at heart all along. And at the end Steph will wish Larry a speedy recovery and tell us all how he looks forward to working with coach again next year.

And this will placate and diffuse us while Isiah works feverishly to trade him for a role player and bad contracts.

I'm still trying to figure out how this horrible season could be Steph's fault. From the way I see it, Steph is ONE PLAYER and he doesn't make the roster decisions. He doesn't coach the other 14 players and he certainly doesn't shoot, pass or defend for the other players either. For most of the year he was out best player and even on the bench its clear he's the best player on the team. If this was any other team they'd be looking for ways to INCREASE their best players output, but NO not Larry's knicks. He sure didn't handcuff AI on the Sixers, but somehow Steph has to shut his game down to please LB.

Steph is no different than many of the other top PG's in the league, who not only run the offense, but also do a fair amount of scoring. The only real success we had was when Steph was allowed to do all that he is capable of doing for this team. The Wiz don't try to slow down Arenas. The Sixers don't hold back AI. The Kings don't shackle Bibby. When Steph was playing HIS GAME, there was only one guard in the league with better overall stats and that was Nash. I firmly believe that with the players we have, it would be better to play a different style of offense than the one LB is trying to force these players to run. LB has NEVER made a team better offensively. His main improvement comes on the defensive end and most of the time it was only after he changed the roster quite a bit. Detroit was already good and didn't need as much change, but it sure helped to add Rasheed.

How is it that the team go worse under LB? He certainly didn't coach this team like he's ever coached before. He thinks he did, but almost no one can defend the strange things he did this year. All we can hope for is that somehow we can make a deal for players Larry likes and that the remaining players from this year will comeback better next season. I just don't want to hear how getting rid of Steph is going to be so good for this team. It won't be unless there's gonna be a whole lot more added to improve the team in other areas.

Get over it. Nobody is placing 100% blame on your boyfriend for this horrible season.

PS: I'm just kidding about the boyfriend thing...

...I know you guys broke up when Stevie Franchise came into the picture.

Stephon did an awful job this year(I've said it so many times it amazes me that some are saying that I'm just admitting it-it's borderline weird), BUT the guy is not the reason for our problems. He needs to get the message from this year and make changes or he needs to be shipped out
