Thing is, last year steph averaged 16 shots per game. Brown says he wants Steph taking 15-20. So what is Steph's freaking problem?

Remember last year when Kobe was criticized by a teammate for shooting too much, so next game he took no shots?

I'm wondering if in Steph's petulant way he's not similarly holding back, trying to make some point that if you ask him to sacrifice everyone will suffer.

i'm no marbury fan, but i still think we need to give this another few months before we pass final judgement on steph.

bottom line is if larry could do what he did for ai and billups, there's always the chance he can help steph fulfill his potential.

if not -- just ship him out.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

sorry, you guys can have this thread back.

RV let me just explain the exaggeration you find so comical....Channing had 21 that game not 30...I apologize didn't realize a little exageration when the principle was exactly the same would affect my point.

Either way, I think that Marbury saying something like that, about a rookie none the less, is borderline ridiculous, and I am a Marbury fan. There are SO many ways he could have said that without sounding so condescending to Frye. Steph is a prima donna when it comes to basketball accolades. He didn't want to play second fiddle to his best friend in Minny, he said he was the ONLY good player on the Nets in his time in Jersey, He finally was winning in PHX (where he was getting accolades for running the team well and also getting his numbers in a ridiculous offense). He just seems to have the whole "look-at-me" complex.

I think its for the best for everybody involved if we package Marbur with James, Q, Rose and Taylor for expiring contracts and picks in a multiteam deal.

This way all the dead wood would be gone, and if the price for that is Marbury being traded, then let it be, we are not going to be good untill he is past his prime anyways.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

No team is gonna take back THAT much salary AND give up picks just to get Marbury. A lot of teams would want Marbury but not THAT badly

Can you give a concrete example of a multiteam trade where two or more teams are gonna give up expiring contracts and picks to facilitate a Marbury trade?

I think you hit the nail on the head. Steph cares about stats too much

He scored 45 pts in a game the knicks lost by TEN and he's complaining that he didn't get a chance to do it again.

Steph cares about stats so much. It's like he drafted himself for his own fantasy team.

So if he can't be upset that he wasn't given the green light to try and take over the game offensivley to try and win, then don't hop on the other side and bash him for not taking the game over offensivly and try and win.

He scored 45pts but had 35pts in the 2nd half the most ever by a knicks player in one half since Ewing with 33pts. But since he is a stat padder he probably did that just to take Ewings record right. Notice how he only beat it by 2pts.

Maybe he thinks he can help the team win if he moves to SG! You're paying too much attention to Peter Vescey and Chad Ford if you think you know that Marbury has selfish intentions by wanting to move to SG.
