^ I've seen almost every Playoff series the C's ever played in the 80's.

Ever heard of DVD?

Just b/c they're classic doesn't mean they're not relevant anymore. In fact, I'd rather watch 80's ball than what the league has come to today.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

The knicks haven't had cap flexibility since the 70's.

You gotta take a chance, and crawford and marbury (cause he came with penny) are taking that chance.

Q is not taking a chance, he's established that he can play with the big boys.

That basically leaves Frye and TT...if one of them step up, we are playoffs second round...if both step up and we get a sprinkle from ANYBODY else...we contend this year!

I never said it didn't make sense, but I just don't like it.

Especially with Isiah overpaying for everyone, how can you even expect us to be able to use Crawford and acquisitions like that to bring in a "potential" JO or Artest?

I understand about the whole championship feeling, but again, it just doesn't make sense to me to be SOO over the cap, with contracts lasting the next 2-3 years holding you up, and STILL add all this young talent. How many roster spots do you expect to have - 30?

Only Timmy and Penny will be gone by next year. Everyone else will still be here. Forget cap flexability - we don't even have roster flexability...that's NOT how you build championship teams.

So in my mind, forgoing talent for instant substance is what I'm looking at. It's not ideal, it's not perfect, but it gets the job done.

Wtf are you talking about. How do you think we signed Houston and Childs in 97.....it's called cap flexability buddy.

And this optimism **** is nice and all, but it's so unrealistic and overdone.

^^^^ well there's always classic sports.

Dont worry about the cap, that was toast when Layden quit. In the next 2 years gone are Penny, TT, Houston, Shandon, Mo T and JYD. Only Malik Rose will be old on that roster. At that point we will have a realistic option; keep building the way we are or trade Marbury for an expiring contract that will give us over $15mm in cap space. Thats a good 2 year plan. In the meantime you have LB who's one of the best (if not the) teaching in the NBA, and Herb who's regarded as a good student of the game waiting in the wings.

Do you think DVD's of celtic playoff games means you know more about 80's celtics b-ball than most?

Ya....I do. It's not just the games, btw. What I know goes way beyond just the games. Just like any of you that know a whole lot about the 90's Knicks...

Zeke's way...(which is LB's way)

established vets to keep the calm and discipline.

Experienced bodies to throw into the mix to prevent mismatches and take advantage of matchups.

Young talent to keep the ship moving forward.

All are interchangeable.

LB -> "I remember when there were two guards, two forwards and a center"

Stop crying.

I think the difference b/w me and you comes down to this:

I WANT PLAYOFF WINS NOW.

YOU WANT PLAYOFF WINS FOR THE FUTURE...

Can't go wrong either way, but I want the most out of Larry while he's here...
Screw the celtics argument, but my position is this:
Getting the most out of Larry doesn't necasarily mean more playoff wins now. If he can prepare our younsters, and Herb, all while winning some now; that would be getting the most of him now. If he can get us a chip now that would be great too, but I think preparing the young'ns and Herb would be the most important long-term objective. He could help make us a very good franchise for a long time base don what he does now.

Fair enough Killa. There's always 2 sides to a coin.

I just happen to be on the better side.

- just playin.

Btw - about watching the C's. Just like any of you are DIEHARD fans of the Ewing days...I feel exactly the same way about Bird and Co.

Don't hate.

is that the kind of stuff that got you kicked of realgm?

A note of advice... agree/disagree, its all good. Bust someone's balls.. be my guest. Try to avoid talking to people in a way that you wouldnt if you were in real time. I'm pretty sure you would tone it down a bit if this was the real world.
