There is no corelation between winning and having a high salary base.

If we can lower our payroll, it lowers the need to fill seats to creat revenue, which allows for us to truely rebuild.

Using More expiring contracts to get players that other teams want to dump is not necessary anymore. Whom do you get? Not blue chippers!

The question is do we want to be competitive and deep in the playoffs to produce profits, or be legit contenders. to be the latter, we need to do what it takes ot pare down our payroll, develope youth, get higher draft picks, and be able to pounce on a lebron if such availablilty exists.

Need three allstars and 6 role players to succeed.

I agree...execpt for the fact that they don't have to be "All-Stars" per say. Just All-Star caliber...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

i am glad that you have asked. Look, Mo will report in shape and ready to ball, by the trade deadline, he will be in high demand. His contract and TT's can be combined to relieve a team like LA. with the new strength trainer that we have around, look for all of our boys to be in top physical condition..

Give me one good trade scenario for MoT where we don't take
on crap that is just as bad? We are not getting rid of that
salary that easily. If it's him or someone else, we'll be
stuck with $10M on the books.

Sometimes you just get a groove, a vibe, a smooth tingle, like when you pee, deep in the bones that Mo T , TT, and even Mr. T with the renewed enthusiasm I gots just gonna make it so much better! Bring in Laimbeer and we can't fail!

See? Isish talks to me too, sometimes when I sleep! Nobody else can hear him, but he talks to me and tells me things. Like whenWe got the junk yard dog! And traded KT! My own privite special Isiah! Do you actually believe the sh!t you write, or is it just wishful
thinking? Do you think if you say it enough times, you can
will it to come true?

Here's my prediction: NO ONE is going to give us anything of value
for MoT.

By tying Brown and Marbury together, a lot of people I think are making a mistake. Your coach shouldn't determine what you do with your olympian/franchise player. Either Marbury's good for the franchise or he isn't. I've obviously argued that keeping him is the better choice, but I don't think the choice should depend on what Larry does.

Without Larry Brown, Chauncey Billups would never have been the Finals MVP. He pushed him to a higher plateua...
What does that have to do with Marbury?

Point is that who our coach is will determine what direction we're going in. Brown has the ability to change players. Look what he did for AI. And now Billups, who was once an unwanted vagabond in the NBA, is a Finals MVP. Brown would be the best thing to happen to Marbury since Swiss Cheese.
Marbury doesn't need Brown to change him. He played extremely hard and well through injuries for 40 mpg for 82 games. He just needs a better supporting cast, which Isiah has begun to obtain this offseason.

You say Marbury doesn't need Brown, eh?

So I guess AI didn't need Larry, either...

Sure, everyone on the team would be better with Brown than a poor coach, but it's not the first need.
So I guess AI didn't need Larry, either...
What does that have to do with Marbury? I don't carry if Larry and AI went to Massachussets and had a gay marriage. Marbury needs a good supporting cast of players. You keep him because whether we bring in talented young players or veterans, he'll elevate their level of play (like he did for Nazy), no matter who the coach is.

Obviously Mr. Bonn is showing his true colors:

My vote is the obvious one - trade him if we can make the team better.

I'm not in love with Marbs' game, but he does average 20 and 8 - so he's
doing something right.

Marbs doesn't strike me as particularly head strong - I don't think he
has the ability to consistently rise to the occassion - he hasn't convinced me he's a winner - but I would have said the same about Rasheed Wallace and Billups a few years ago. You look like a winner when you win.
