maybe isiah has seen a combination of things both directly and indirectly that some fans don't see. the kt problems seem to be well-documented and kt seemed to be a well-liked knick.

if isiah think that marbury is NOT the answer going forward for 4 more years, then he may have to pull a trade where some fans deem it unfair.

number 1 its VERY difficult for a team to take on that contract
number 2 steph has something that follows him around in terms of personality on and off the court that seems to crete problems sean marion didnt like him kg, KT etc...

dont think we are in ANY drivers seat IF this is true, if this is true we are in the same boat as Toronto was with Vince NO with Baron and Marbury is harder to trade than all of them becuase he makes more than KG!

If he wants a talent for talent swap, stebe francis seems like the only way to go, if he wants broken up value that may include a pick[s] and a combination of samller contracts we can peddle off, maybe clev or houston, but there will nOT be a huge demand for a 20mm $ PG who has some baggage, even with his talent

if the rumor is dalembert, i think a 3rd team would have to get involved here since marbury and iverson CAN NOT co-exist.

maybe something like this:

marbury to dallas
devin harris and dampier to philly
dalembert and mash to ny

something like that.

i am really up in the air about marbury. i'm not sure if we should keep him and see what happens or move him now for a nice young big (if that's possible). i think marbury is the stop gap to sell the tickets and when this team is really being built and ready to make that next step, he won't be the guy heading it up so maybe it's best to cut ties now? i really have no clue. i am pulling for him and do think he needs to get some props for constantly playing big time minutes and always getting dogged out and criticizes while taking it all in.

the New York tabloids are going to blow up tomorrow. I wonder what Marbury's reaction to all this is. And even if Zeke comes out in support of Marbury, these rumblings around the league lend SERIOUS creedence to the idea that no one on the team likes Marbury. We all already know Marbury can't run a fast break (I've been saying for the last year he's the game's best half court PG, but not a run and gun guy - he can't with his ankle). How many times last year did we see Trevor streak downcourt wide open, flailing his arms for the ball, with no outlet pass from Marbs?

I think these rumors are very real. Frankly, I'd trade Marbury for a good young big man right now with the way the team is built. Whether that's Dalembert, Kmart or someone else, who knows? But I think this is being driven by the team's reaction to Marbury's bristly "leadership," Zeke's relationship with Aaron Goodwin (who is worried about Crawford's playing time being impacted) and the fact that Phil Jackson didn't want Marbury and neither does Larry Brown. This is Zeke essentially choosing to go very young, go with Crawford at the point and get rid of a supposed clubhouse cancer in order to make the roster more attractive to Larry Brown.

This is very, very interesting and something tells me its very, very real.

I don't buy into marbury having bad ankles for the reason why we don't run as a team, I mean wouldn't it be easier to just throw the ball up court to a wide open ariza than to bring the ball down court, then beat your man off the dribble continually all game, I mean wouldn't that be tougher on the ankles.. I think the demise or marbury in Ny have been greatly exaggerated, by both the media and sports forum posters alike...

Marbury for Dalembert would be:

1. one of the worst knick trades ever.
2. impossible for Philly to pull off with him and A.I.
3. Something Zeke would never do because we play them 6 times a year.
4. Talent and production-wise it would be so incredibly lop-sided.

Our core would be eight guys from 20-25 years old who are all extremely athletic (with the exception of Sweetney who is a bruiser) and can cover every position on the floor. It might look lopsided in the short term, but there's a reason Philly won't do this - Dalembert is worth more than Marbury over the next five years, especially when you start to think of contract value and age. The main reason, though, is it's harder to get a quality big than a quality guard. I think Marbury is a top three PG in the game talent-wise, but he doesn't play right for this team and he isn't as valuable as a big man.

I would hate to lose Marbury as much as anyone, but when you have the chance to get a young, athletic, skilled, versatile core of this:

Crawford, Nate
Q, Craw
Ariza, Lee
Frye, Sweetney, Lee
Dalembert, Frye

not to mention that trading Marbury would allow the team to add at worst a mid-level first rounder to that group next season, probably another lottery pick. And the Spurs pick. And we'd still have Penny's expiring deal to trade.
