If you are asking for a translation I think he is saying Phil Jackson warned us about the pitfalls of drafting extremely tall and skinny players.

THT goes from being untouchable to getting traded for a role player. Would have liked if Knicks tried to get him. Maybe we still can.

Makes a little too much at this point for my liking. Lakers and their untouchables 🤣 Remember when Kyle Kuzma was "untouchable."

See PhilC, most of the fans here can retain what they read in the past. Phil noted he was hesitant to take KP but Gaines really talked him into it. KP first workout was not great has he was a bit hurt but had another that went well. He stated that big guys without the “back” don’t pervail well. I have no doubt if OKA4 was on the board we’d have drafted him or D’angelo Russell. Go to go back to the moment. After KP the draft dropped a lot. Thus it was the obvious pick. And at this peak, in hindsight Phil wanted to trade him and would have done quite well given the rumors.

Its not that I don’t make sense. Its about reading.
Other than durant how many 7 footers have succeeded on the perimeter with mobility but befell to injury? Dirk did amazing but really had to work to gain that mobility and his work ethic was incredible. Markkenen has been trying. Ralph Sampson was kept in the paint. Rasheed Wallace in todays game would be an even bigger star!!!

Looks like another tank year and high pick for OKC.

You called it.

Out of the dozens of ligaments he could have injured in his foot he injured the worst possible one.

A lot of big men you can think of who were too brittle for the rigors of the NBA going back to Bill Walton, Yao Ming up to KP. But they did get on the court time to time and excel. Thinking of poor Greg Oden who never got out the gate, one injury after another. He's still only 34 which surprised me! Anyway, I hope this is a one off for Holgrem, but in drafting these guys you have to be aware....

Agree. Walton helped the Blazers and Celtics win a chip'. Ming had a good run as well. At the time I thought that Durant should go number one. Was surprised that he wasnt.

I was willing to see the Knicks trade up for Holmgren so I can see why OKC took the risk. Like you said, still plenty of time for him to make
some waves.

Its still the summer, and its still fun time.........
Hypo spit ball time:

Say Ben Simmons is healthy. I know he all damaged and weak. But say Johnny Bryant wants to get his hands on him and get him right. No DM trade, but instead trade Randle who might waive his no trade clause given the geographical benefit of the trade. Paired with Brunson and now moving OBI to the starting line up you have a 6-10 guard who can't shoot for **** beyond 15 feet but is a 3 time Allstar defender who can guard 5 positions.
Im not saying this lands us in contention but we keep our booty full of trade treasure, and give RJ more room to breath on the perimeter.
This gives the nets perhaps a complimentary piece upfront.
Im assuming also that we get the last 38 game RJ to be the norm.
And, OBI hit 35% of his deep 3's.

What don't I know? Has Ben Simmons grown up enough to give two ****s and phuch about his career and how he wants to carry himself? Beyond the fans perspective what is the coaches perspective and is he a lost cause?

Does Randle have a NTC?? I can't find anything on that.

In any event, I want nothing to do with BS. We got people complaining about Julius's attitude as it is. Take that and multiply it by 10 for Ben - the best case scenario is to give him the benefit of the doubt and accept that he has mental health issues. They already went and threw him into the fire of NY, but escalate that further with the orange and blue spotlight?
