Teams that have faultered as much as we have don't have any rivals. Why worry about other teams, or bask in the glory of them not having any picks or uncertain future when Knicks future is far less certain and devoid of picks ourselves?

the knicks didn't get swept. they lost the series 4-2 against the second best team in the east, who was missing one of its starters for the fifth game which the knicks won.

the nets lost in five games to the champs. i don't see any shame in that.

but leave it to knicks fans to figure out a way to claim that "the enemy of my enemy is my enemy."

It's more like knicks fans who see the enemy of those on the knicks as the enemy, while the friends of the enemy are the enemy.

Lots of big mistakes.

Little Pierce and Garnett said or did in the last few days suggested they have any intention of returning to Brooklyn to finish what they started.

And if that happens, the Nets are right back to where they were before they shipped Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks, Kris Joseph, Keith Bogans and three first round draft picks (2014, 2016 and 2018), as well as the right to swap first-round picks in 2017, to Boston.

So was the trade a bust?

the trade was a success not a bust. pierce and garnett were brought in to support the core of williams, lopez, and johnson. lopez goes down and pierce and garnett are pressed into greater duties than their mileage would justify. williams, just like carmelo anthiny, is an overpaid max player not worthy of playoff success. his crumbling ankles are one thing but ultimately his game his suspect in terms of decision making-- just like carmelo anthiny. lastly, johnson has grown on me this year but he is still missing a killer instinct. he is vaguely reminiscent of that other grievous knick error: allan houston.

if you think williams was a bust then the carmelo anthiny trade was a total bust. can't have it both ways
