This is huge. If Quick can continually breakdown the defense his peak potential will be raised another notch.

And maybe with it you will stop posting about IQ being played out of position?

Or it is such that this is just what development of a player looks like?

Naw, I still don't see him as a PG. It will make him a better player if he can get to the hoop more often though. We are talking about 2 different things. He is developing as a player but he is still not a PG.

Edit: If during quicks development as a player he learned how to do these things I will consider him a PG.

Control an offense and direct the team to take advantage of mismatches and defensive mistakes.
Less missed passes on lobs and cuts to the basket. With Mitch and Obi this one is huge.
Being able to pass players open. He tried this before and turned the ball over but I loved that he tried it.
The thought to feed Bigs when they have not touched the ball in a long time. Keeps them engaged.
The thought to feed the hot hand.

These qualities and leadership is what look for in a starting PG. If Randle calls for a ISO but we have a better matchup somewhere else have the power to waive him off and go to that matchup.

That's fair and I think the same. By those standards do you consider McBride a PG?

I have no clue. He has not gotten enough time to make an informed decision either way.

I would like to add a PG does not have to have all those qualities. They should have a good number of them to be a starting PG though. I understand that if a PG had all those qualities and was able to score they would be Chris Paul.

With IQ, RJ, Grimes, McBride, I don't know why you would trade for him. And I don't know how you would anyway with his salary.

Jokic has been ridiculous this season, it's amazing how many win's he's got that barren Nuggets team:

The Nuggets just keep on winning, beating the Rockets, Pelicans, Warriors and Kings this week to make it six out of seven since the All-Star break. Words can't even describe what Nikola Jokic has been doing, averaging a laughable 38.7 points, 15 rebounds, 10.3 assists and 2.3 blocks per game this week on 68/43/77 shooting splits, while delivering clutch bucket after clutch bucket. Just a complete joke. Jokic deservedly gets the majority of the credit, but Michael Malone might just work his way into the Coach of the Year conversation if Denver can keep this up without two of its three best players

The league has so many varied stars and different style of teamsat the moment, it's like the 90s again with so many star big men as well as guards- glad we seem to be over that terrible phase where every team was trying to be the Warriors and just jack up 3s.

We have plenty of ppl we could combo with and the main reason is simply just talent upgrade. we get a better creator and scorer at the guard position who would be the best facilitator here.

Talent upgrade at a cost of first round picks and young kids for a guy who doesn't defend much, injury prone, and will cost you $40-45M per who will be 29 in June and can't shoot from distance.

Again, what's the talent that will offset the cost of trading for him?

Its a 1 year rental so the cost would be significantly lower. Beal is a career 37% 3pt shooter. The way I see it is what teams would be willingly to offer the most? Washington probably don't want to pay him a max extension and neither would I or many other teams. I see it as a stop gap option.

How can you put that out and think it's a legit take on what Beal is shooting from downtown? Last 4 years: 35%, 35%, 35%, 30%.

Do you think WAS is going to just GIVE you a discount cause he has a player option? Is that how trades work with that level of player?

Fair. I chalk his 3pt shoot down to shot selection rather than actual accuracy. No one in the league is going to leave him open. And again, for me it comes down to what are other teams going to offer? Is breaking down walls to trade for Beal right now? His value is definitely lower coming off an off season and most teams are going to be skeptical about giving him a 50mm per year extension.

My take is Beal will extend with DC.
If not, at team trading for him will have to negotiate an extension or his value is far smaller.

Sixers are unwatchable with all the FT they get- in fact the number of FT's players across the league were getting in last nights games were just ridiculous. After such a promising start to the season, that everyone seemed to prefer, we're back to this crap again- it's so boring!
