That gives the Knicks a 5 game lead on the 4 seed with 18 games to go, with tiebreakers against Indy and Milwaukee.

They are pretty locked into the 3 seed it seems.

I just don’t want the pistons round 1.

I watched this live - absolutely brilliant play design and unreal how wide open Haliburton got on it. And shocking how little time actually ticked off the clock. Pacers let this one almost slip from them.

Honestly- I’d rather have the Celtics in round 1- pistons are young and athletic- that, along with being over 500, seems to be our weak spot.

This is even a better view, amazing to see unfold.

I'm curious if they drew this up on the sideline, or had been working on this - seems like the special set play you want to keep secret until your big moment. Turner was also in a perfect spot for a rebound.

I wish we would have plays like this (Thibs, you listening) because how many times should a five count get called, there is no motion, no movement.

Super creative play call. And I guess someone didn't get the message not to foul the 3pt shooter.

Glad that all of my NBA info comes from this thread and whatever randomly gets put in my social media timeline. Everytime I see something like this is confirms why I stopped watching.

One point about the Pistons I heard on the Dunc'd on Podcast is that the Pistons being an extremely Cade centric offense might hurt them in the playoffs when the intensity ramps up. This will be Cade's first playoffs and Thibs will ramp up the defense on him. No one else on the offense is consistent enough to be counted on and it will be a rough learning curve

It's called the Brunson Defense.

Pistons did lose to the Wizards last night. I agree with Martin that the Pistons are in a bit of a Knicks situation - key on on the head of the snake. It happened to us in 2020 when everything was Randle centric. It happened to us last year when it was Brunson-centric - however having Hartenstein to pair with him helped us, and Brunson was smarter and more seasoned.

Pistons will go through a learning curve with Cade. Maybe he's already up for the challenge? He's a great player. The rest of the roster is overachieving because of his greatness. Can they keep it going in a playoff format? 2020 Knicks learned otherwise and these Pistons might too. But they have a lot of hope for the future. What Cade needed was a long run of consistent help. He had the tools and he's fulfilling his promise. He will be a top 10 NBA player.

I think the underlying reason that the Knicks moved DDV/Randle for KAT was that KAT can be a focal point of offense in a way Randle may not have been as consistent or threatening for defenses, give or take. These would obviously be other reasons too.

Knicks still need a secondary ball handler IMO.

That may be true but I’d still rather face the pacers or bucks. I don’t like our matchup with Detroit Cade will light us up.

Agree...also think a big point is KAT either shoots from deep or drive - he doesn't hold the ball and makes quicker decisions vs Randle
