That’s a particularly bad, but not surprising from you, take!
If a team beats you fair and square you tip your hat to them. And likewise you should be even more gracious when you’re the victor
Regardless of whether you believe that, you should at least acknowledge calling the opponents chokers (Twice btw) when they played their heart out is a trash, a-hole move.
In the heat of the game is a totally different story. What we don't know is the tempeture on the court. Im assuming your talking about Reggie and Haliburton right? The Reggie thing? Fans were all over him that game and rude as it was, we don't know the level of trash talk. Was the Haliburton game in the Garden? I can't recall.
We don't hear whats going on but sometimes those fans in their exuberance create those villains.
I recall the series coming out of covid vs. ATL when Trae lit it up. It was the first games back after the bubble and two things happend. I believe the regulars who sit close were not there and fans forgot how to act. They were spitting on Trae I I recall.
Any self respecting nba star wouild be motivated to rise above that. I was not happy by the raucous crowd that series and while im not Trae fan at all, I thought what he did in response was ok. At the end of the day its all entertanment.
Nobody said you can't hate on your fabricated villian. Haliburton? You won't recall BUt I called him out for his smiley act before the choke and its annoyance. His Choke? Lame as it was not original! LOL.......But at the end of the day those dudes performed adn ripped our hearts out. Knicks fans are not the most gracious victors are we? If I called it all out I'd have no time for my day job and be even more disliked in these parts. Hell, if we not winning we don't even like our own players or coaches and when emotionally charged and call for their heads!
Indy took thunder to 7 games in the finals and Hali playing injured played and tore his achilles. Retribution? What, for his choke sign? Thats playing the victom card.
The tank? I dispise it as much as anyone. They lost Turner and knew Hali was going to not play. Thats two starters. With siakim missing a lot of games, thats three starters. The tank was legal and until the league addressed it was a cold and logical thing to do. Get a Top pick, zubac and get Hali back. Instead they get a unprotected from Clippers in a few years. Might be a great pick, might suck. They tried. Can't fault them for that.
Haliburton was a punk two years in a row, and both times you blew it finding ways to dismiss it as other than being a punk. First year was his punk-ass sweatshirt which you tried to defend as a homage to Reggie. That was an amazingly dumb take. The next year he did the choke himself. Both years the Knicks fought their ass off. Yeah you won, you have the right to celebrate. But that doesn't give you the right to be a classless punk, immune from criticism. And that was classless. You're still defending it as a fabricated villain. Nothing fabricated about it. Everyone saw it. We now know his dad as classless too, to the extent he was banned.
You're incorrigible
It was a punk ass move.
Don't make him a punk. He did a bad look. I don't dispute that. You got your view.
To your point the sweat shirt was a bad look, I agree.
The choke sign by Hali was classless take. But again in the context of competition and in the Garden fans are giving it to him and perhaps not so classy either.
Knicks are not into that kind of **** and its not lost on my we take the high road. As for Knick fans? Well some are great, some are immature.
I thought Maxey took his ass whoopping well and even Embiid despite few bad hooks was ok this time around. He looked stupid but thats his issue.
The only guy that clowns about on knicks is Mikal at times but the rest of the guys are solid win or lose. I really like that about our team.
Hali's dad got punished. Call it Silver, Indy front office, what ever, he was removed him from the games.
Hali off the court seems like a solid dude and other than his trying to rile up the rivalry I have to respect what he did last year on the court. Indy came close to winning it all last year. Hali clutch was not just knicks. Hali played that game 7 knowing full well he could lose a year. Went down fighing adn gave his team a chance. They damn near pulled it off.
Yeah, hated losing to indy twice. Don't make it easy. Hali rubbed it in our face. It was a punk ass move. I hope he learned from it. I have seen Kobe and Lebron do punk ass things and grew up from it. I'll be consistant here and state that guys can learn from and grow up.
I find real punks like Morant and his dad far more egregious. When your game stops talking then you got nothing left. Morant has a lot to prove both on and off the court.
Yes, I prefer if Hali be more stoic in his success.
