Andre Brown will likely be the best of the day 2 selections thus far

Ramses Barden is a freak. 36 TD's in the last 2 yrs. As a Jr., he averaged 25+ ypc on about 60 catches!

love those highlights... he's running fade routes to the corner on just about every play, just like how Eli liked to use Plax in the red zone... we really missed that big target to throw to in the red zone on 1 on 1 coverage last year when we lost Plax... i hope this guy can stick, he's got some great height at the WR position.

His size is nice, but he gets no burst... he doesn't stay low enough coming out his cuts so there's not enough separation. The latter is correctable at least

at his height all Eli will have to do is throw the ball high, which he already is apt to do... he should be able to learn how to block out smaller defenders using his hands & not get called for Offensive Interference after a little seasoning at the NFL level.

good job V... that makes 3 guys off your list that Reese drafted... looks like you're in the zone too.

Nicks was theoretically on my list too- that list was meant for picks past the 1st round for people to look for. I think we did the next best thing past trading for big time WR. Getting the NFL ready Nicks and the big upside Barden was exactly what the doctor ordered. The picks from now on may not make the team, but regardless of what happens I think we got 3-4 future starters from this draft.

That'll only work in the red zone... if he can't get any separation and he can't get any burst, he's going to killed by safeties and linebackers. The only way he sticks and doesn't get his head ripped off is if he works on getting low in his routes

i actually much prefer going this route than trading those picks for Braylon Edwards as i mentioned a few days ago... i hoped that Reese wouldn't cave into those unreasonable demands & i'm glad to see he didn't... IMO u don't trade away multiple picks for a guy as inconsistent as that guy, i don't care how physically talented he may be... here's hoping Nicks & Barden are gonna be the next Toomer / Plax combo for this franchise for years to come.

i agree that ideally getting separation is key, but i mean how many times do u see big recievers positioning their bodies to block out defenders even in close coverage over the middle on slant routes & on sideline fade patterns? at his size he should be able to use his physical advantage to his benefit, & i think u can already see him doing that in those highlight clips.

Even if he ends up being a redzone specialist, Barden fills a big need for height in the Giants WR corps. Now we have a bunch of guys that can do different things. Smith underneath and in the slot. Nicks who can go over the middle. Hixon and Manningham who can threated downfield with their speed. Two TE's who can catch- one with huge size and one with nice speed. And now Barden who can grab the fade and jump ball in the endzone.

all we need now is a shotblocker.

Bomar, wow. What a pick up. This guy has a lot of serious upside. I thought for sure that the Lions were faking everyone out a couple of days ago and going to take Curry and secure Bomar in the 3rd round. I know it isn't in his nature but Eli shouldn't sleep on Bomar and Woodson. Reese is starting to stockpile talent like New England. That's how you sustain success in this league.

Woodson is probably gone. He won't be able to beat out Bomar. He didn't make a lot of progress with the coaches.

I read just the opposite that Woodson make significant strides changing his throwing motion. Is there something contrary to those reports?

I know a few people that are close to the org that have pretty clearly said that he wasn't making the progress they would've liked. They wouldn't have exposed him on the Psquad if they really thought he had a lot of long range potential. He'll still get a chance to compete.

The guy that has apparently made significant strides this offseason in terms of physical shape and improving his mechanics is David Carr. People are saying he's close to where he was a few years ago with the Texans.

He had some shoulder injuries which caused his stock to slip. He's a good tackler, can return kicks and can also play a little bit of safety. I like the idea of drafting corners every year. Its a very expensive position to replace and its good to always have someone in your pipeline. That's why Terrell Thomas was a smart pick. And now you potentially have someone who can replace Dockery when he walks after next year.
