Was reading the AD at DePaul came from Kentucky and thus the connection.
The Loyola coach in Chicago seems to be the favorite. The alumini donors are a big piece of it besides “search”.
Not to be ugly but Payne is African American and while certainly qualified might just be window dressing to make the search complete. Not uncommon. Payne is paid 1.5mm as a knick coach. Not chump change for a dude not associate head coach. If he desires a head gig and thats his path I trust Thibs can find someone to also do a good job.

Reports will be seeking more opinions. Lavar gonna just yell at the wrist and tell it to heal.
He’ll find something with the way Hornets handled it and want him traded.

Maybe if we bring both Ball brothers here Lavar’s head will explode.
I have no desire to listen to his egocentric self when his interests are not being met by the team

Aaron Gordon requested trade. Apparently a lot of teams like him. Never been that high on him as a player personally.

I think his best performance was in "Uncle Drew" - he was almost unguardable!

What do guys think of Cam Reddish? Rumor are that the Hawks have made him available. Would re-unite with RJ. 6’8 with a 7’1 wingspan. Currently injured. He might have had more upside than RJ coming out of college. Feels like the Knicks might have the right staff to get the best out of him. I see it as a flyer on a long 3 that theoretically is a good shooter, despite recent performance.

Cons: Not from Kentucky.

You know I gonna spin wit it

For someone known as a 3 point sniper, he has been very inconsistent in this area. That was a problem in collage, and it continues in the pros. His rep precedes him, but he hasn't lived up to it. I would consider a straight up swap for Knox, who has had a similar issue, but don't see why give up more.

The Boston Celtics are considered the frontrunners to trade for Aaron Gordon, sources told Matt Moore of The Action Network (also confirmed by The Athletic).

The Celtics have reportedly offered two first-round picks in exchange for Gordon. It is not known what protections will be added to the draft picks.

The framework of the trade also includes Evan Fournier going to the Celtics, with the Celtics trading another player while using their Trade Player Exception.

The Magic prefer Marcus Smart, though the Celtics are reluctant to part with the guard.

The TPE is not eligible to be used with more than one player, making other teams likely to join the trade.

The Nuggets are also contenders to trade for Gordon with Bol Bol, Will Barton, and draft compensation on the table.

ATL has a surplus of players. Some of which I think were bought in to be traded as ATL is not a hot spot for FA’s.
What does Knox give them? Perhaps two more years of low salary and develop if some players are moving out.
He out injured now so this would not be a playoff push move. Cam is a super athletic 3.
I suppose its not who he is but who he SHOULD become and do we think he can get there.
I’d do a draft pick for him. Easy to say the lower of two Dallas picks. Not sure I do this deal mid year. It does nothing for us now or for ATL If they want to delay the time line of developing a 4 behind Gallo then maybe Knox Becomes part of that. Let’s be real, few teams bank on just one player for a position. Look at Collins, the guy is really good but comes a time where crossroads to make a decision and the player is not accommodating to the money available. No, Knox is not the answer but its about creating opportunities. Reddish is more valuable then Knox so there would be more to this. Always is. Cam is far form a finished product himself so while change is fun, he will evoke memories of Tim “Fugazi” Thomas as an Uber athletic forward with huge upside. The question is it good risk to take?

I don't follow Atlanta closely but dip into some of their forums every blue moon and I think their FO thinks VERY highly of Cam, imagine a 6'8" version of IQ. That's what type of offer you would need to give

A very cheap Fournier trade I wouldn’t mind. He hasn’t been impressing me as much lately but a low cost way of testing him out wouldn’t hurt too much.

It was all lol Knicks until we started progressing. Now everyone wants to bite Leon's style, scrounge the dinner table for scraps.

Ouch! So cynical hahaha I wonder how many donor dollars DePaul has to throw around. Do they have a Mike Repole, like St. John's had, to create an enticing recruiting package? Their current coach makes $1.3M per. That doesn't include the numerous perks and bonuses he probably gets.

Yahoo sports in the rumor mill (not “reporting”) If Koby Altman out as GM in CLE Dan Gilbert could want Brock Aller back. Clev does like to promote from within but why let hm go in the first place if he was that important?
CLev seems to burn thru GM’s. Dan Gilbert is not as hands on since his stroke and confined to wheel chair. BTW, he is only 59! Yikes! I get CLEV is frustrated and obviously they got the Kevin Love contract wrong and while they did not pay much for Drummond not sure that decision looks good on Altman. Aller was there for both so lets not pin it on dudes since we not in the room where and who decisions are made.
Aller has not been here a year and I would have liked to see him have some time to yield the cap magic. Is he really GM material despite known as a “Capologist”.
Knick ramifications could be he replaces Perry? Could have been the plan all along? Let’s not think that Kenny Payne and Aller if both only here a year are the only dudes that can do a good job. Leon got good guys here and he could keep doing it going forward.
(Insert Ujiri starphuch here).
