Hahn on the WFAN right now. Doesn't think Rubio may like the cold weather (his mother was concern) not putting much credence to Rubio to the Knicks because he understands that the Knicks aren't that high on Rubio as everyone assumed. Knicks feel he isn't a complete player. Thinks that the Knicks got the guy they wanted after Curry in Hill. Believes that the Knicks prepared themselves for Lee and Nate's departure. Sounds like Walsh is trying to improve defensively first.
At the time Hahn talked to Walsh, Walsh was probably comparing Curry to Rubio. I eventually came around to thinking that Curry was wanted more than Rubio because of his shooting ability- which is important in MDA's system. I don't think that means they would not settle for Rubio, even though they would rather have Curry.
When somebody can give me a way that Minny can/will use 2 low lottery picks who play the same position (Two of the purest PGs in the draft, I might add.), I may believe that both will end up remaining in Minny... BUT don't tell me that Rubio will be a PG, and Flynn a SG, which is what Kahn supposedly said, because that is sheer stupidity, and I cannot see any coach preferring that as his lineup.
I have to think that one of them is going to be traded. Something is going on.
I also feel the same way about GS. Curry and Ellis in the same backcourt makes no sense, especially if you have teams like LA and Portland, and others with a big SGs. Hell, Sacramento now has Evans and Martin, and OKC has Westbrook and Harden. Going to be a lot of posting up on Curry or Ellis by big guards, and a backcourt with Rubio or Flynn at the 2 will face the same problem. Did GS draft Curry to come off the bench like his dad? Picking him makes no sense to me. DeRozan, T.William, and maybe Hill would have made sense, but not Curry- unless they plan on making some trades.
