![]() TripleThreat wrote: Yikes! They’re going to regret that for a long, long time. This is why you don’t let players be the GM- Leonard sat down and decided who he wanted as his team mate and insisted the Clips trade for George or he wouldn’t sign. Now he might bounce too in a year. Plus they just don’t fit well together, they have no chemistry. Happy for Nuggets fans, but really disappointed we didn’t get to see a Clips vs Lakers, Lebron vs Kawhi showdown. I do think the nba should further restrict the number of first rounders you can trade (or at least how far into the future)- it’s not fair on future fans if their team has traded away their first rounders for years to come |

![]() hats off to Denver!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Malone is highly underrated as a coach. they won the last series when he switched the starting lineup to insert more defense (gasp!! i thought the NBA was all about offense). Highest drafted pick is 7 -- anti-process. Instead they get guys who can play, and play together, and to their strengths. (and no their FO is not perfect; they traded away draft spots that yielded Donovan and Rudy) 180 degrees opposite of what we do. Our CS has found ways to zap the confidence out of just about everyone. Malone has his guys playing with confidence and never-quit attitude. You could see the difference in the fourth quarter. Denver: rim was looking huge; Jamal was dropping them for 30+. Clips: Lou was missing layups And there is a strange irony here. Triple always (rightfully) criticizes Lebron for playing the GM role. I love Kawhi (absolutely one of my favorite players) but his insistence on playing GM and wanting someone like P.George at any price will be painful for a long time and Ballmer knows it now if he didn't before. ![]() Don’t blame Leonard, Durant or Lebron, it’s on the team that enables it. Some players also sell themselves as recruiters. Sorry JROD, thats another Mooby jab.
Nobody puts a gun to a teams head and makes them do this stuff. In some demented sense maybe we should be glad we drew the line with KP and Janis making demands and we refuted them. The morning after looks bad and Clippers hang that trade out and it looks even worse. Balmer wants his new arena and there was a window in the west they went all in and tried to climb thru. there are no great teams in the NBA right now!!!! GSW on hold due to injury and Kawhi leaving Toronto shifted the balance. Nobody really sticks out which gives lakers the window now. At ths point Lebron looks pretty damn pretty with where they sit. |
