This was another worthless win, Thomas has effectively killed our chances of getting a serious impact player, had we not made any moves we could have easily just tanked the rest of the season and been picking in the 5-7 range, now we are going to draft 12....

Sure Malik Rose was a nice addition, but he is taking minutes from Sweetney who is so fat its scary and needs all the time he can get out their....

They played well you have to give them credit, Herb finally learned his leason and came out with a team in the fourth.....That line-up is great, i like ariza, williams and rose defensively, if we could just add one guard defensively we would be in good shape.......

Spurs.....lose, lose lose, hopefully they drop 7 out of their last 18 or more, and they finished in 3....

I was at the game w/my bro, & it was great to see our best player take over a game the way he did against a top team in the NBA, albeit w/o their stud bigman on the floor...that Spurs team still could have easily beaten the Knicks last night, & for a while there it looked as if no one on the Knicks team was going to step up & be the hero, as Tony Parker was scoring at will early on.

but then Marbury took matters into his own hands in the 2nd half & went off for 31p / 10a / 6r...i was particularly impressed w/Malik Rose's defense against his former team, & JYD was all over the place making things happen as usual & giving a spark off the bench.

Jamal was pretty non-existant out there, but he didn't force too many shots at least...TT had a solid game early on...i was very disappointed in Sweetney & Mo T, both of whom were totally ineffective last night in the minutes they were on the floor.

all in all, it was great to see the team play a game against a top team & beat them...even w/o Duncan on the floor, i think the Knicks deserve kudo's for their effort...sure, it probably makes more sense for them to lose all the rest of the games from here on out to shoot for that lottery pick, but when you're watching the games, how can any Knick fan help but root for these guys as long as they're playing well?

sweetney was ineffective because not once did they look to get him the ball in the post inexplicably! he was causing havok on the offensive boards. They need to realize that Sweetney is a beast inside and take advantage of it!

Sweetney wasn't getting position inside...i was watching him the whole time he was out there...he looked bad dude, trust me...his Defense was horrendous & he had at least 1 or 2 shot attempts blocked from the weakside by a shorter defender, & he wasn't a factor at all on the glass.
he was causing havok on the offensive boards.

his 3 rebounds in 25 minutes is creating havok? i think you're confusing him w/Malik Rose last night dude...watch the replay again...Sweetney had a horrible game.

I think the Knicks still have a decent shot at making the playoffs. I think the Nazy trade helped the team in both the short- and long-term. TT's playing much better.
I was as disappointed as you are in Sweetney. I wasn't that disappointed in Mo Taylor. He only played 9 minutes and had some nice rebounds.
Like you said, Marbury had an outstanding game. I was disappointed in his defense in the first quarter, but his defense was superb in the final 3 quarters. (Didn't Parker go something like 0-9 after the first quarter?!)

Whether or not people think the team should be trying to win now, Marbury deserves credit for being one of the most consistent 20/8 guards in the league on a nightly basis while logging huge minutes. I think a lot of players would have thrown in the towell by now because they would have thought that the aches and pains of playing 40+ mpg weren't worth it if the team was headed for the lottery. (My family in Philadelphia thought Iverson did that last year, BTW, when he sat out toward the end of the season)

OK, so it seems like IT made a great trade here - Malik's a more effective player than Nazr plus we picked up 2 #1's. BUT . . . we've also picked up some wins we might not have otherwise, costing us a better impact player in the lottery. With 20/20 hindsight, which way would you have gone?

if last night's game proved ANYTHING, it's how much of a factor Stephon Marbury was in making Nazr look better than he actually was...look how much better Malik Rose looked as well...it's not coincidence that these guys flourish by playing off of Marbury's penetration into the lane to draw defenders down low.

I think the Spurs failed to realize that when they thought it was worth giving up 2 late 1st round picks for Nazy. And let's not forget that Nazy has a pretty good PG in Tony Parker playing with him. But last night we saw that when Parker doesn't have Duncan, he's not even in the same league as Marbury
