It's only been 2 games but Alvarado is not more impactful than Kolek.

Wow long tweet by Ian. That's unusual, he wanted to get this out
Tweet was deleted or there was problem with the URL: New Knick Jose Alvarado will be spending his All Star break at the Knicks practice facility. “No break for me I’m going to try to stay here, get a lot of reps in. Just get comfortable with everything - offense, defense. Just get a good rhythm," Alvarado said late Tuesday. "Because once I start doing that I can be a little bit more like myself.” In his MSG debut on Tuesday, Alvarado scored 4 points and handed out five assists in NYK’s OT loss to Indiana. He dove on the floor to chase a ball that he poked away from Pascal Siakam and forced TJ McConnel into a travel in his first few minutes on the floor. Later in the game, McConnel and other Pacers had some success when Alvarado was defending them. Alvarado went 1-for-5 on offense but handed out five assists in 18 minutes. All in all, the Brooklyn-born Alvarado seemed happy to have his home debut behind him. “Obviously playing for the Knicks is a huge thing for everybody. But I’m literally a kid from the same streets that the fans are. Just to be a part of everything, it’s a blessing,” Alvarado said in an interview with two reporters after Tuesday’s game. “But it was something that I had to get used to and now I finally got it out the way and now let’s get the ball rolling.” Alvarado and the Knicks will play in Philly tonight on the second game of a back-to-back. Any time spent on the court with teammates will be valuable for Alvarado at this point. He hasn’t had a full practice with his teammates because it’s rare for teams to practice at this point in the season. “I’ve gotta get used to playing with JB, KAT, everybody involved. So it’s a learning process but it’s gonna keep getting better,” Alvarado, a former Christ The King HS star, said. Mike Brown credited Chris Jent, TJ Saint, Brendan O’Connor and Darren Erman for helping Alvarado get up to speed. “They’re doing a great job on me,” the guard said. “Sometimes it’s more just getting in a rhythm with the guys, getting in a flow.” Official sponsor of the PURE KNICKS LOVE Program

Hat him walking ball up into pressure, dribbling by 1/2 court, calling for someone to screen while he searches out a good match-up and 3 other guys stand and watch. We need to get away from this **** but we simply can’t seem to do it. |

EwingsGlass wrote:My hot take is that Brown is back to alchemy and figuring out player combos with the addition of Alvarado as well as missing players. The lineups he used last night are wonky. 4 guards and KAT doesn't really make sense. Yeah I can see that, plus this and some maple nut crunch Tweet was deleted or there was problem with the URL: Official sponsor of the PURE KNICKS LOVE Program
