I do think our offense started to look good for extended spurts last night.

Like the 1st half vs the Bucks the 2nd half last night we were moving crisply, finding the right guy and Kat finally got going.

There were a couple of key spots where I thought Kat was cooking early 4th (?) and Brunson took a bad shot - then later in key spot forced a bad lob to Mitch that wasn't even close - finally think we got it down to 2 after some OG/Mikal 3s and with 2 seconds on shot clock ball swung to Dosunmo and Jalen didn't close out, hands down as 3 pointer was made pushing it back to 5.

Our D is biggest issue though we looked ok in spots - guys (almost everyone) getting taken off dribble and fouling or giving up layups.

Overall I think things are starting to flow but key guys like Hart, Yabu, Kat not clicking and Mitch playing based on Zodiac calendar are slowing things down.

Mikal looks good, Jalen good, OG playing fine when not on ground.

Big line up looks pretty damn good - I bet Brown didn't want to see hack a Mitch in last 5 minutes.

Can't recall many games where the Knicks had big offensive games from OG and Mikal where we lost.

Btw we gave up like 15 points in the last 3 mins - talk about not closing. They went right at Towns. We also missed shots, but if you give up 15 in 3 mins that's 240 in 48.

Gotta wonder when Yabu and Clarkson play better than Payne and Achiuwa- they kinda have to.

But losing the Josh Hart we are used to having takes the identity away from the team.

Also - amazing to think how much young talent OKC compiled to give away a player of Giddey's caliber for ala very good, but old and limited role player. 22 yr old walking triple double. People ridiculed the Bulls, but that is a potentially franchise changing deal if he keeps this arc going and some of the other guys can stay healthy.

Losing stinks and I hate it as much as anyone and I too wished this team hit the ground running to start the season but the fact is it's going to take time and we need to be patient. This team needs a lot of work especially defensively. We're getting beat in the paint, one on one, transition, everything on defense during this losing streak! Players just look confused and not comfortable. I honestly don't think it's an effort or personnel issue as much as it being a chemistry and execution issue. And that takes time. Let Brown do his thing. He has a track record and deserves the benefit of doubt for now.

I still think we will end up with 50 plus wins and the first, second or third seed at worst.

Give the Bulls credit! They played and are playing really well and they could very well be that surprise team this season. Giddey looks and is playing like an All-Star! And I like that other kid Buzelis!

and sometimes you are what your record is. We are playing like a play-in team. The teams in front of us in the standings have done a great job of roster building. Thibs would be absolutely losing his mind right now and not singing kumbuya around the campfire.

Bulls are playing like we need to be playing with all the passing. I want plays for KAT at the top of the key and back screens for cutters. Like Sacramento had for Sabonis

They are playing offense that I’d like to see us playing but they legit have 5 guys who can handle/pass better than rest of our team outside Brunson,

Giddy/Jones/Dosunmo/White/Heurter vs Brunson.

After Jalen we have non-creator in Deuce and suspect guys like Mikal/Josh/Clarkson who will occasionally create but with lots of oopsies added in.

In terms of Kat at high post like Sabonis - sure I like this in theory and Kat is underrated passer BUT he’s also who he is at this point.

Last 3 full seasons Kat basically avg ~3.75 assists vs 3 to’s. Sabonis is `7 assists vs 3 TO’s.

Sabonis like his dad is a surgical passer (often bounce passes into close quarters) where Kat is just as likely to airmail passes into 3rd row.

Our lack of additional playmakers will haunt us — it’s one reason I don’t mind Clarkson going off the reservation sometimes because we need someone with creativity off dribble.

We’ll see what goes down Sunday — hopefully we can stay in front of these cats and also avoid wide open 3’s for guys like Vucevic & Giddy

Problem is Brunson needs the ball to be effective. So agree that KAT needs more plays though.
Issue right now is our defense. Everyone is focusing on early offense and getting up a quick shot but there is no focus on how to get back and get into defensive position.
