I will say that OG was kinda bad tonight for the most part. Got caught gambling or overplaying a few times. Had no legs on the 3 pt shot.

He did play great D on Couilbaly at the end of regulation

Another game of a great fight, but also of questionable defense and no trust on the bench. Sighs, the defense is still troubling but the bench is just how it is with Thibs. With back to back games, you’d think minutes distribution would be carefully dealt with, but no. I love this stretch and this streak, but we all know how important rest is when taking care of these players. Even today they seemed to have no legs on their 3s.

I just don’t understand how all of a sudden, Payne is a 6 minutes guy and Sims is vanished. Yes, Sims made many mistakes, but had good stretches too. At least do the classic and give him time until he makes the first mistake, but not even that. And Payne, unless he has any health issue, it makes no sense not to play him a bit more.

I know we have a strong starting lineup and that is awesome, but you see the best teams distributing minutes well, developing a bench that can really support them in this long season. We might not have the best bench, but we do have pieces to move around so we don’t have to give the starters 40+, yet we continue to do so. I even think that the defensive issues today were more about fatigue.

But it will be rinse and repeat. Hope it keeps working out.

I get the sense that they are working on parts of their game in-game. Like getting Bridges to his spots in the mid. Earlier, getting KAT to attack the basket. Getting Brunson to get his teammates the ball off his dribble work. Meaning, we are eeking out wins as a team while still practicing. In the second half, if we are close or behind, Brunson gets green lit and takes over.

I will say that Brun took over because he had to take over. OG and Bridges were non factors in the game offensively and KAT kind of disappeared in the 4th after being strong in the 3rd. It's possible that I've got it the wrong way around, but it didn't feel that way. No one else rose to the occasion in the 4th, except Maybe Hart doing Hart-like things.

Knicks are winning games where they are shooting abysmally from 3 and that’s a great sign and something we couldn’t do earlier in the season. The team was exhausted last night clearly. Let’s just keep the streak going into OKC. Deep into a winning streak the circumstances don’t matter just keep it going.

The defense has been much improved and really good for awhile now, last night not withstanding.

My guess is we trade Mitch for a forward and Payne is out of the rotation at full strength. Precious is just fine in the backup big spot and more versatile because he can play some with KAT. Right now Payne and Shamet are splitting 8-10 mpg and we’re playing Brunsonless mins without Payne. Thibs is leaning towards Deuce/Shamet backcourt off the bench IMO but we need another wing. Don’t think he likes 3 guards off the bench.

are we sure about that? Please take a look at who we played in december. We have not played any of the top off teams in december. Actually our strength of shedule has been low and its even lower when you include injured teams. Fans always ignore strength of the opponents when stating stats like these. Until our defense shows it can stop top offensive teams or good young athletic teams I am not drinking the cool-aid. Our offense proved itself so I am good with that going forward but to say we have good defense now is premature to say the least.

I hope everyone is appreciating Brunson cause he won't be here forever and we waited decades for games like this. To have a guy this good and at the same time being such a leader, great teammate and even better person is incredible.

Only the second double nickel game in Knicks history. Thank you Kyshawn George for poking the grizzly bear and imitating the Brunson celly celebration. Brunson went nuclear after that! It never stops amazes me how good he is and what he is able to do at his size. His footwork and basketball IQ are at an elite level. But a big thank you to Washington for not doubling him! What were they thinking?! Then again, it's been proven we have a squad who can score. That makes 4 different players who have scored 40 or over this season! That's just crazy!! But this night belonged to the Cap. Amazing performance! Clutch shots, clutch FT shooting (16/17!) and we needed him cause those pesky Wizards made us sweat it out! Give them credit! That dude Champagnie played really well.

But this wasn't just Brunson. KAT with a monster bounce back game with 30 and 14 and had some really nice defensive rim protection. Bridges continues his strong play with 21 and OG had some key defensive deflections and steals. And typical Hart game with 13/11/7 and made 2 key buckets in OT. That Precious dunk was insane!

There are legitimately only a handful of teams that are really better or at same level of Knicks, I’m going off of record: Cavs, OKC, Boston, Grizz, Houston, Mavs.

Next group down is probably Lakers, Clips, Magic, Nuggets, Bucks, Hawks, TWolves, Spurs, GSW, Suns, Pacers.

Luckily for Knicks, the 3 players that haven’t played with Knicks most are Shamet, Precious, and Mitch. The 2 bigs getting into shape portends well for Knicks. Plus just familiarity and the nature of Thibs defenses will kick in.

I’m looking forward to seeing how much Precious and the hopefully Mitch impact things.

How do you play both Sims and Precious minutes? I think it’s really one or the other unless fouls or matchup dictate something else?

And in last night’s game in particular, the 3 PG’ish guys are Deuce, Brunson, Payne. Brunson was on fire, it’s his double Knickel minutes you would have replaced with Payne minutes even in hindsight? That pull up 3 from Payne where he airballed was atrocious, unless I got that mixed up with previous nights game, I was kinda in and out.

Similarly, in hindsight, KAT was 13-19 in a game where the Knicks offense was stagnant and Washington was beating Knicks at 3 point line. Would that be an ideal game to have Sims get minutes?

I get the minutes thing but how do those other players getting minutes make sense, especially in hindsight?

Or, is it just better to have minutes lower regardless?

Please read what I said those tweets don't address what I said. I said top offenses in the month of december. These stats are from NBA.com Don't know if they updated for last nights games yet. The best team we played on the list was the Magic 3 times and they were injured and got more injured the later we played them. The next highest was the Hawks at 11. most of our games came vs teams 20th and below and a ton of those teams has major stars injured. So to come away from December saying our defense is good is premature like I said. It has not been tested like it was in Nov. Twitter is weird have to click the images to see the full pictures of the lists.
