Seems like Atlanta would prefer to give up youth (Jalen Johnson and Hunter and fillers ) for Siakam than go in the other direction. Toronto has a great chance to add more youth around Barnes, Quickley and RJ. Seems like a deal like that or with Indiana for Mathurin, Toppin and Hield makes sense. I see Atlanta more likely as buyers. |

![]() Do you guys think Donte could fill Quickley’s role?
His efficiency will go down some, but I think he’s the only guy on our roster who qualifies. His skillset seems like a luxury now starting as our 2. Might be time to put Grimes back in the starting lineup. Hartenstein Bench: Donte, Hart, Achiuwa, McBride Thibs usually keeps the rotation at 8-9 guys so one of the starters will be playing with the 2nd unit, probably OG and/or Grimes. I think Donte and Hart is enough ball-handling off the bench. |

![]() Just my opinion of course but I see the Knicks as more likely to move Grimes in a deal (with minimal draft compensation) for a bench upgrade than to upgrade the starting lineup anytime soon. Grimes is good but he’s also due for an extension soon. He’s not going to be the young guy they need for a blockbuster deal. It’s more likely to be a 2024 draft pick. If grimes doesn’t get traded that’s all well and good, but they really need some bench scoring and any player added would cut into his playing time when the full team is healthy. Randle and Brunson are unlikely to play 82 games and there’s no support for them. When Randle missed time, Toppin could give a little extra and so could Barrett. When Brunson missed, Quickley was ready. Grimes isn’t magically turning into a scorer. I’m not advocating to trade him by any means, I’m just saying this team even at full strength is vulnerable and needs a bench spark. If you want a minimal rotation guy who can score, maybe someone like Bones Hyland. He doesn’t play much D but he can split the 9th man role with Deuce depending on what is needed. But otherwise it’s likely someone who’s cutting into Grimes time. Hart isn’t getting touched. He’s playing 28 mpg and finishing most games unless DiVincenzo is crazy hot. This trade really solidified the closing lineup so Thibs can’t get criticized as much for playing Barrett over Quickley etc. there’s no doubt now who’s finishing as far as the top 4 players and most of the time the 5th player. But they still need a scorer. Ball movement will work against some teams but not against all. They have plenty in the starting lineup and none off the bench. Hart excels in transition but gets stuck in half court. Grimes makes his move on a close out but then has no idea what to do after that. And Hartenstein is no longer there as much for the occasional backdoor cut. Deuce isn’t even looking to score. The whole thing collapses without Quickley, Barrett and Hartenstein.

![]() Grimes was much better last season, I don’t want to give up on him too quick. I think he will benefit with more consistent minutes and playing time. I would love to extend him on the cheap. I think having him start and Donte off the bench is the best use of our players without any other moves being made. The spacing without RJ in the starting lineup is so much better.

![]() I don’t really see Dejuan Murray as a 6th man. I’d pull the trigger on a deal right quick though.
Murray for Fournier and Grimes, both 2024 picks and both the Detroit and Washington picks. and Bey for Malachi Flynn. Murray/DDV Effectively takes us out of the 2025 draft. Would be pretty excited to see this team together for a couple full seasons. You know I gonna spin wit it

![]() I agree with Martin, at the end of the day it will be Malcolm Brogdon for Fournier for a future first
and we keep Grimes out of the deal. Then we turn to getting a center for the playoffs. |

The only downside is grimes minutes will go back to being pinched when the team is full strength but I just don’t see an alternative there. Other options instead of Brogdon like Rozier or Clarkson do the same thing. |
