I saw Kyrie walking around the court at the end of the game to sign kid's jerseys. Seems like a really nice guy.

Kyrie's a closer! Especially down the stretch of games.
McBride, Grimes, and Quickley are dynamic defensive stoppers on Knicks opponent's guards, but couldn't stop Kyries high scoring in the 4th quarter.

I’m not sure Julius can handle distractions well… such as being mic’d up.

His head needs to be 100% in the game IMO. Any less and his stats go down.

Plus the Nets and that ****er Kyrie don’t suck.

That said, if two or three of their threes don’t drop, or the Curry flop isn’t bought, we could just as easily be celebrating.

But with the lack of urgency to start the game, we had no business expecting to win.

I'm trying to be patient with Grimes but he needs to start hitting those timely threes. It seems like in all of our recent losses, he had a chance to either take the lead or cut the lead with a wide open three and he chocked. Last night we cut it down to 4 and had a chance to cut it down to 1 with a little under 2 minutes left and Grimes missed a wide open three. Frustrating!! He's currently shooting 36% which is not good enough! He needs to get that clip at 40% and above.

Give the Nets credit. As much as I dislike him, Kyrie is an elite player and closer. There is really nothing you can do to stop him when he's hitting threes from 28' and over two guys.

I believe part of the problem is that Grimes right now looks like a 3&D guard. Who can also get to the rim if they have the lane. Not breaking down their defender with their dribble. Which most starting SGs can do. There isnt a midrange game to speak of. So if Grimes is off from 3, the defense has him bottled up. We have nights like these. Which has been too often.

Im confident that Grimes will put more tools in the toolbox, but it feels like he was promoted into the starting lineup a bit early. Still believe that letting him run the offense will help open up the rest of his game. Grimes feeds off of making great passes, and so do his teammates.

Adding more complex things to a young player's responsibilities will help the rest of this game? I think you are vastly underestimating lots and lots of aspects of pro ball.

Grimes is a very capable passer, he does not run offenses.

You're right Martin, look what it did for Quickley. He was pressed into running the point from his rookie season on. We're still dealing with the aftermath. Im sure Grimes having played PG in school would have only made things worse. And his passing ability would only have gone to waste.

Of course Grimes being the 37th ranked scoring SG in the league. Who doesnt have all the skills of a starting SG (yet), isnt a case of "adding complex responsibilities". Those other 36 teams have great starting SGs.
