At this point he is our 3rd best player- right there with RJ, more or less. That's our core JB, Jules, RJ and IQ. The second team is Hart and Hart, Grimes, Mitch. That's 8 players right there. McBride and Obi are the tail end of it. Next season that might change with guys developing. So exciting to see them take strides

Last year you lost on your "Brunson is a max player" projection. This year you're going to low.

RFA after next season. We can match whatever offer he gets. Hart has a player option this year I am more concerned about what happens there

thinking of Haliburton I am thinking more and more we cant avoid a Sac situation where the simple truth is IQ/Brunson play the same position and it makes more sense to move one than play them both.

IQ is my fav player so I do NOT want him gone. We are gonna get a LOT of calls on him and have some tough choices to make

I think the Sac situation is different. Hal and Fox didn't play well together, and the numbers support this. That trade was more chemistry and it worked out for both teams. JB and IQ do mesh. I won't rule out a possible IQ trade, but I don't see chemistry on the court being the driving force.

they do mesh... and I have no problem keeping IQ. However if McBride emerges and Grimes levels up you have Brunson/IQ/McBride/Grimes and Hart/RJ only playing SF because someone has to. That's a glut.

We can afford to run these guys back. There's really no pressure, but I dont see being able to play the guys we want as much as we want and where we want.

Fish, you really should be banned for suggesting we trade IQ!

I don't see a problem with having them together - there are enough minutes for them to get between PG and SG. Being undersized doesn't seem to be an issue for IQ as far as guarding players - at least I haven't seen it.

I think you will agree that if anyone should be on the outside looking in as far as this teams future, it's mr. 30% on efg Mr. Canada, RJ Barrett.

When we get to the play offs, I thinking having two lethal attacking players like IQ & JB can be a difference maker as defenses tighten and points become harder to find.

Don't blame Quick for having that type of ambition...There are a handful of teams that he can start for righ now. Knicks will have a decision to make, soon....

I would hate to see him go, unless he lands us a superstar or someone close. I think this kid has a bright future as an NBA starting PG.

Still think this is not an issue for the foreseeable future.

He's under rookie contract for next year.

He'd have to take the one year QO the 2024-2025 season (and play for the Knicks) over the security of a 10 figure contract to become a UFA and sign with someone else in 2025-2026.

At which time Brunson might only be signed for that season anyway (we'll see).

The runway could be cleared if not only a starting role but the knicks starting PG role is what he wants.

And no reason he can't start anytime starting next year if he earns it.

Well he will be starting at PG probably next several games. I’d be very careful with Brunson’s wrist

Is there a world where IQ is our future PG? Not next year, but after?
Brunson is traded for value? I like both.
These are good problems to have.

Teams to watch out for

1. Orlando (Pablo, Franz, Carter, Fultz, pick) - this is a real concern you would take the first two over anyone on the roster and Carter is blossoming
2. Toronto (Barnes, OG, Pascal)
3. Rockets & Spurs (if they win the lottery)
4. Jazz (Larry, Kessler)

He’s not coming off the bench if he’s averaging 20+ as a starter. It’s a nice problem to have finally, but Grimes might need to go the bench. The ball really moves when IQ is out there. He’s getting Brunson money and his energy makes him a fan favorite anywhere he goes.

Ive accepted that any deal involving Luka, would include IQ. No way Cuban doesnt make that demand. Still would do it though.

Quickley has become my favorite player. He just does everything right. The next step for him is consistency. I hesitate to move him for a star but we don’t know that he isn’t already a future star on this roster. I know he talks about eventually starting. He should be a starter. Maybe next year or maybe not, but I really think he belongs in the lineup next to Brunson. He’s finishing games anyways, and he’s both proven as a starter and as effective alongside Brunson, so why not ?

I can understand the sentiments of starting IQ in general but I thought both he and Brunson are most effective with ball in their hands than not and the Knicks would want to spread their minutes?

Each could get at lest 24 minutes of PG, ball in hands minutes and then share the off ball minutes for rest?

He should definitely get PAID like a starter for sure.

I know I will catch hell for this, but does IQ deserve the starting position over Brunson? I mean, IQ is the two way player. Doesn't have to be this year or next, but when looking at lineups, would IQ's added length and defense be better for the team overall? I can honestly see IQ being starting point guard on a championship Knicks team.
You know I gonna spin wit it

Would love to win a championship, with either Brunson or quick as our starting Point
