I never want to be the team that hangs on to talented players that don't move the needle, what's the purpose.

I think we have a nice young core, but if don't win 48 to 52 games this season, your going to entertain trading them

Nonsense.

Rome wasnt built in a day. And btw, the Knicks are probably finishing around 39-42 wins this year. For a team with a youth movement thats a respectable record.

It;s not like we are the jets and giants with putrid win/loss records trying to convince the fan base we are in the right direction with medium pepsis

You say Rome wasn't built in a day?

But then you continue to trash a Rookie QB on a team with a Rookie Head Coach?

The Jets fan in me is telling YOU how Rome wasn't built in a day.

And I agree about our Knicks. Rome wasn't built in a day.

nothing like sports lessons from Jets fans... Phil I think the Knicks are a bit better than and end up winning 45ish games. The part I totally agree with you on is doing that with guys like Obi/IQ/RJ/Mitch/Grimes/McBride/Sims all playing a role during is GREAT

Let’s win the games we are supposed to win like the next 2 before we discuss pushing the 50 win mark

right... sorry who mentioned 50 wins?

Mitchell Robinson is emerging and returning to form.

Throughout the previous 6 games he's averaging...

27.4 minutes.
10.5 points.
10.0 rebounds.
2.0 blocks.
1.0 steals.
+/- of + 9.0 per game.
With an insane FG% of .909%.

Keep playing like this and he's an All-Star Center because his Defense down low has been dominant during this 6 game stretch too.

Throughout this season from time to time a young knick shows up in the game and balls out. We all know that the potential to be very good players are possible for these young group of knicks. That's something the fans wasn't able to say for decades until now. Its nice to see for this season all the young guys with Randle and Walker to show up all at once and have a great game as individuals and as a team and for an added bonus for them to be able to do so against contenders like the Bucks, Suns or warriors. Just to tease the fans of what this young core of knicks can do down the road.

Loving what Mitch is doing - but seriously, maybe this guy's FG% and finishing ability is holding back his development. I think he eventually needs to take a few difficult shots to evolve his game... add a few
40-50% FG attempts (post up move, a 3pt attempt). He also needs some reps making decisions with the ball in his hands so he learns to the floor a little better (he's one of the league's biggest black holes, averaging 0.8 apg per 36 minutes).

I've got Mo Bamba on one of my fantasy teams and have been monitoring his games. He's quietly become a more well rounded player than Mitch. Takes 4 3PA's a game, currently averaging double figure points, shooting 72% from the line, averaging 1.7apg.

A bit repetitive here, but Mitch has the physical tools to overpower maybe 80% of the centers in the league.

Mitch has great physical tools. We have seen that for 4 years now. The same questions remain. Can he stay on the floor?

Yup. 6 games.

What about the harping fans who were quitting on him not even 6 games into his return? Sad.

One thing I love about this young team (look at thread title) is that you never know which young talent is going to step up. But every game. It's one or the other. They all step up. And last night it was Mitchell Robinson's turn.

Dude Mitch good games have come against G league talent, Pistons/Rockets/and a depleted Twolves roster

I hope your not running around telling your friends Mitch makes 90% of his dunks he's a future all star..LOL

You ever see a deer in head lights, pass the ball to mitch 15 feet out and wide open..

Every team in the NBA have multiple BIGS That can knock down 3's, the knicks have Randle, at least TAJ is getting in on the action.

WTF is Mitch doing, waiting in the paint for a missed shot..

Dude is a decent back up at best..good for 7ppg and 8rb 20 min per night

I appreciate M. Robinson and what he has done the last few games but Knick fans need to realize it hasn't been against top notch comp

Quoted for truth.

Tonight it just so happened to be Deuce McBride, Obi Toppin and Immanuel Quickley (with the help of Burks). Heck even Grimes got the start over Evan Fournier and played hard nosed Defense.

I love this team. The future is going to be electric.

Knicks have the best young talent in the NBA and the deepest too. I hope we never trade any of the kids in this thread Title; all 23 years of age and younger!

Look @ the Thread Title.

Read it again.

And now Obi Toppin gets to start over the next 3 games.

C: Mitchell Robinson (23).
PF: Obi Toppin (23).
SF: R.J. Barrett (21).
SG: Immanuel Quickley (22).
SG/SF: Quentin Grimes (21).
PG: Deuce McBride (21).

Coach Thibs is fully loaded with homegrown NY youth and it's going to become extremely fun to watch how all 6 of these household names develop alongside of one another moving forward.

C: Taj Gibson.
PF: Julius Randle.
C/PF: Nerlens Noel.
SF: Alec Burks.
SG: Derrick Rose.
PG: Kemba Walker.

And these 6 veterans (when all locked into a zone together) can become the veteran leadership needed in order to lead our younger players DEEP into the playoffs.

Your hate for money Mitch is getting old. In the words of JayZ, “Knicks got a lot of problems, and Mitch ain’t 1”

For what Mitch brings to the team, he’s grossly under paid. His only problem is health. Mitch is a throwback rim running defensive rebounding center. Tell me the last time Clint cappella shot a 3? What about Utah center who’s currently making the max vs Mitch who’s on his rookie contract. We all know u hate Mitch, even if he’s been killing lately which is crazy, regardless who we played.

Randle has stunk it up against this same G league talent you saying Mitch is playing against. EF been stinking it up since he arrived. Thibs made a mistake and benched Kemba. Yet, u want to direct your hate on a player who continues to protect the rim, grab rebounds and never complains that the offense doesn’t run through him. He doesn’t whine like Randle on each play. He doesn’t dribble the clock out on every possession. He’s becoming an ultimate nba pro who can start or come off the bench for any team for the next 10 yrs. So I’m not understanding the hate. Vs sit back and be thankful we not paying him max money right now, and he’s still playing hard regardless without complaining. Gotta love a healthy Mitch.

If we win tonight, Mitch will be one of the impactful players in that win. Taj or Noel can’t guard the big 7ft centers in this league. Utah, Atl, and a few other teams all have 7ft centers that we have to guard. And yes there are centers in the league that don’t shoot 3s. And there will always be centers that don’t shoot 3s.

Go NY go NY go!

Just got word and read the news on how...

C: Mitchell Robinson.
PF: Obi Toppin.
SF: R.J. Barrett.
PG: Deuce McBride.

All 4 are starting together @ OKC tonight.

"Tonight will officially be the first time 4 Knicks draftees started a game together in over 3 years, with the last group also containing Robinson, plus Frank Ntilikina, Tim Hardaway Jr and Damyean Dotson".

Mitchell Robinson still one of those 4? The difference? Instead of being surrounded by Frank, Timmy and Dotson? He's now surrounded by Deuce McBride @ PG, R.J. Barrett on the wings and Obi Toppin down low.

Coach Thibs is the man. Thankfully he doesn't quit on our 23 year old Center Mitchell Robinson as fans seem to do.
