Thought you were ugh'ing Mitch's availability.

It's ok. Let Nerlens get to 100% before this becomes a nagging injury. Mitch is back, Taj is looking good, and Thibs suddenly sounding open to a Julius/Obi frontcourt since Friday's rally. After C's on Wednesday, we play two against Orlando, who I am not scared of down low after trading Vucevic. Rest up, big man.

Yep, much as I want them both back asap, I'd rather stagger Mitch and Noels return rather having them both working their way back into game shape at the same time. In the mean time it give This time to try out more of Randle and Obi, or it gives Taj some more mins.

If Obi plays like he did to finish the Wash game he's gonna cost one of those guys minutes. They are both great rim protectors but certainly the way things are trending Obi is simply a better basketball player than either Noel or Mitch. I got a feeling we are going to see Obi unleashed a bit here

How far we've come from "Obi the Ski Rack" I like Obi's impact all over the court so far, but if Mitch can get back in shape and stay healthy, he brings some unique defensive abilities that I don't see Obi replicating, especially against the PNR.

Agreed. I think a good amount of us are still sleeping on Mitch because of how good the defense looked last year without him. Once we get him back to 100%, he unlocks a new level for us (especially on the offensive glass).

Obi's been on a weird course - Knicks tried to trade up in the lottery for him, looked like it was just a waiting game before we started throwing big minutes his way, and then the guy in front of him started getting MVP chants at MSG. Despite that, his energy has never wavered. Gonna have to start calling him B12 with the boost he gives us. If he starts stealing minutes, it's because he's fought for them tooth and nail. I hope it happens - it's exciting to watch him climb up the totem pole.

96 minutes for Julius/Obi/Mitch/Noel. It's a good problem to have.

Randle can play all three upfront postions. JR gets in foul trouble, Obi can come in and randle slides over if size is needed there. Tatum plays PF or sf? Dont matter. He is a handful league wise.
He’ll play but on the Short Thibs leash.

Still think the NBA should start later. Don't get why they want to go head to head with football. Start the season in December, go into the first week of August, last week of July. Go right into preseason NFL. Wouldn't ratings be higher going against baseball?

Anyway, excited as hell for this season. Hope we stay healthy. If we do this team will be tough to beat.

This is going to break Thibs’ heart but if he plays like how he did against Washington, then Taj is the odd man out and Noel certainly will be too. It’s exactly what Thibs’ says though: It’s not who starts, it is who finishes. The finishes will be telling and he seems to go out of his way to really praise Obi. Obi is a Thibs’ guy.

Taj is going to be odd man out regardless (assuming we find our nirvana and get both Mitch and Noel healthy at the same time). Dude's a soldier though and has embraced his veteran role more than anything, regardless of minutes.

If Obi starts to eat into Noel's minutes though, we'll have to see he responds. You hope it's a non-issue, but not everyone shares Taj's character traits.

UK WE HERE! Hoping we play calm and not get blown out like it seems we do every season opener!

But Celtics cannot match our fire power, especially with our bench. Tatum and Brown will get theirs. Gotta keep that 3rd guy from going off - Schroder or Smart. Randle and RJ need to ball and we gotta play the same D as last season.

Knicks 108

Celtics 105
