Cunningham (in the 10-14% chance we win the lottery)
Suggs (possibility in the 3-7 pick range)

Bledsoe or Ball. One of them doesn’t have a future in New Orleans and I would imagine there’s interest to a degree in both

Terry Rozier becomes more likely as he gets closer to being an expiring contract (he has 2 years left and no future in Charlotte as they are fully committed to a Ball/Graham backcourt I would think.)
Graham is also a possibility with him becoming a RFA and being CAA. Maybe a big offer shakes him loose and Charlotte just rolls with Ball and Rozier, although this is less likely.

Mike Conley. CAA and a free agent next summer if knicks are trying to get more aggressive in being a win-now team.

I think it’s more likely than not we end up with 1 of these 7 PGs between now and July.

Graham is small. These midget PG’s with exceptional ability are bad contracts to have. They lose just one step or get a tissue injury they cannot hang with the bigger players.
Rozier might be better than what we have but he is not good enough. I give DSjr 20 games to show me something before I make a deal for Rozier.
Remember, Frank can play defense enough to stay on the floor and win you games without his offense. We have seen that. When a player loses his shot in a game we hear the same thing “They have to contribute in other ways”. Frank can does those other things and its why many of us like him. Ariza had that knack too and when he found his offense he was NBA starter material.
Let’s not forget Charlotte was not that good either with Rozier and Graham. Devonte was a Gleague player who did well. HE is a a 25 off the bench player. Can shoot deep and light it up. But there are limits.

Graham is small and Rozier isn’t perfect, but both are much better options than D Smith and Frank because they can shoot it. We need guards that can score in today’s game. That being said, I prefer to stay away from the Charlotte PGs and just wait until the draft. If we strike out on Cunningham or Suggs I’ll make a push for Lonzo because I think he’s a very good fit with RJ, Obi and Mitch. I’ll pay enough to make it so New Orleans is uncomfortable matching and give them some small compensation to ensure they don’t at the last minute.

Do we know Lonzo is even available? Kira has to evolve beyond him then they can look to move hm. NOLA is in great position to win now and keep it evolving.
As for us, yes, Graham/Rozier are better than what we have but the aggregate of those moves have to push it even further. Paying a price for mediocrity take away from future moves.
For the moment, this is who is in camp and it gets sorted out. What Thibs says in media or not matters far less than what the rotation become and corrected.
IM surprised we are going in with the trio from last year (Elf, Frank, Dennis) with just rivers given only Perry remains from last year FO and and whole new coaching staff. I’d rather play this drama out and see where it goes rather than prematurely react like media/fans do and suggest change is improvement by itself. Last think I want to see is Frank or Smith succeeding on another team. I have been championing this for some time and glad at this moment this will play itself out. I won’t predict the outcome but its the intrigue that will make me watch games. WE argue “don’t you want to win?” Guess what, I have no say in anything and its not a question of “settling”, its about trying to think of a path that makes sense. I fully expect one of Frank or Dennis to not make it. Its not my hope or prediction. Its just conversation..

To an extent, everyone who is here is going to have earn playing time. I expect Barrett and Toppin to earn some sooner rather than later, but some of the younger players here aren't going to make it. I think that's largely a good thing.

Don’t worry guys. Isiah still running the Knicks behind the scenes. I expect DSJ to average 40 minutes per game , lead the league in turnovers and be a turnstile on D while shooting 29% and Elf Payton averages 19% from 3

Not much video or news coming out of training camp... so all just speculation. Wouldn't it be amazing if DSJ played with aggression and reckless abandon on offense like a young Derrick Rose and took the reigns of this team?

Yeah. It would be amazing. But if anyone had the raw athleticism, he had it as recently as 2 seasons ago. (not sure if it's all there now anymore - heck, while athletic, I don't know if DSJ has it in him to play with a high motor with reckless abandon.)

I could see the Knicks taking some cues from the Heat this past season, with a core requirement of everyone being able to dribble the up and initiate the offense interchangeably. This would play into a situation where Burks, Quickley, and even Bullock getting some surprising guard minutes over more conventional PGs like Payton and DSJ.

Didn't we hear just that from Phil or was it David Fizdale or both!

Isn't that why we had Randle spinarama wild?

I'd almost prefer a Hubie Brown like approach, where we run set plays every time that the coach calls out.

I don't know if there is the collective BBIQ to be freewheeling. I think we need structure.

I am probably the only one that believes this but I think Thibs will be starting Frank at the PG spot. Thibs I think will get Frank be Jimmy Butler at the 1 spot.

man I hope he finds a role and fast. Frank is ready to contribute immediately. The question is whats his role and who does he play with.

I agree and if he doesn't start Frank immediately at PG he will eventually be forced to. His defense is too good. Elfrid Payton cannot shoot to save his life and DSJ is a turnover machine and neither of them could guard most of the guys on this messageboard.
