That "turnover" happened twice in a row - a pass to nobody in the area.

Talent without a brain is no talent at all. We spend more time pandering to showcasing this mofo than is ever worth it. He belongs in China.

I think I saw only one of those turnovers. DSjr has been atrocious this year. I know his mom passed, and that is hard, especially for a young man like him.

But for his own good, he probably should be moved while he has a chance.

When I saw him come in, and Charlotte get ahead, I thought to myself - there goes the game! they'll get a lead, and we won't come back.

I am in the give Knox time camp but I wanted Miles in that draft. I wonder if the Knicks could have a redo if they take Miles. I thought at the draft Miles was a 10 yr starter that had a shot at an all star game. The last guy the Knicks picked based on a workout was Shump.

Nalod at the game. Hornets suck. Knicks Suck. Had fun in a close game.
First time seeing Randle in person. Man is a beast in person.
Knox for sure looks bigger this year. Another near dunk for one of our kids.
IN person its not the motor, he has long strides, makes him look slow.
Blowing leads is not giving the lead cred to begin with.
Dennis is a necessary inclusion at this time. Have to give him minutes. Sat with some hard core knick fans.
He actually had a few good moments near the rim.
He don’t look fat, but he don’t look like an NBA player. He looks like he was the man and can’t find his way to blend in with others as good and better. Just my take.
“A mills guy”? Thats just silly making stuff up. I think he should just go to the Gleague and just play a few games.
Kudo’s for them to come back from being down 10. Dennis sucked the life out of the team but if he is to be of value he has to play. Maybe MIller thought he could pull it off.
Plucking Willy Hernangomez! Double double machine! LOL. He still sucks.
Dot got hot but too late.
Frank damn near pulled it off. Being a fanboy I was not happy for him to sit but get Dennis has to get his. For what’s its worth this shyt is all backwards, He is supposed to start, Frank his back up and Elf is the bench guy.
Frank shot 100% for the night! LOL.
At the end of the day we had good seats, cheap cuz nobody gives two shyts and a **** about hornets or the KNicks. sorry RJ was not playing. He is our great hope for a better tomorrow!

Sorry, it’s no silly. It’s the truth. That’s who Mills wanted to draft but Phil went with Frank. Facts. What’s silly is that you think Mills is doing a splendid job and you don’t want to give anyone else an opportunity for fear that they will ‘ruin’ this great rebuild.

Maybe, maybe its just public relations talk that he had to own the pick.
You more than insinuate its more important that Mills needs to show Dennis is good than what’s good for the team. Debate that.

its not what I don’t agree is is made up but its just plain silly as well.
MIlls wants to keep his job. I agree. Thats just human nature. After that it gets silly.

Smith Jr was one of the main pieces of the failed KP trade. If you don’t think that Mills has a personal investment in his development (considering that’s who he also wanted to draft) then not sure what else I can say. There’s no reason for DSJ to be playing right now. The guy is and has always been a below average player. And he’s having a terrible season. So why is he being rewarded with playing time over Frank?

What’s blatantly obvious is that the front office wants certain players playing on the team regardless of performance. The front office has a personal stake in the success of their acquisitions.

Smith Jr hasn’t earned an ounce of playing time. It’s not “silly” to say Mills wants DSJ playing.

I think too many people here like giving the Knicks the benefit of the doubt when they clearly do not deserve it.

If these rotations and minute distributions are just for showcasing purposes ahead of the trade deadline, fair enough. If they're just a futile attempt to save jobs and carry on past the trade deadline, I'll be fuming!

I agree. I thought there were some DSJ to Charlotte rumors out there a few weeks ago. I watched part of the Hornets broadcast and they did not reference or express any desire to trade for DSJ.

That was never a rumor.

It was more like some ideas on a message board to trade him straight up for Monk, who is equally bad.

I am one of the bigger Frank fans in here but I understand why they played DSJr right now. Trade deadline is coming and he needs to be showcased. Since I am a big Frank fan, my only question why not just bench Payton instead and start Frank and let DSJr back him up. Need to keep developing the youngins and its not like Payton is head and shoulders better than Frank.

I'm in this camp. I thought this was all about showcasing -- and for that matter the same may be true for Monk

I was glad Smith was playing fast on some plays. He was fairly brainless though with too much dribbling and he had those two horrific passes -- albeit one, someone actually saved the ball. I think he's battling a lot of insecurities right now which makes things tougher. Sending him to the G-league would be a huge mistake IMO because of that

If we think the season is lost and want to play him so be it. If we want to trade him do it. Personally, i think he's a big energy suck on the team right now as they try to figure out how to get consistent performance from him. Why we thought we would do a better job than Carlisle is an indictment on the FO. They and Fizz thought they could turn around everyone, and by my count they've turned around no one

I agree. I thought there were some DSJ to Charlotte rumors out there a few weeks ago. I watched part of the Hornets broadcast and they did not reference or express any desire to trade for DSJ.

I watched too. Strangely enough they brought up the issue of Frank DSJ and Monk all struggling and they thought Monk is now showing the best promise (they probably could have thrown Futz in there too). SO at least the announcers would rather have Monk

The one thing that is going on for Monk is his perimeter game although it has been abysmal this year. That is why some would rather have Monk.

Need to keep developing the youngins and its not like Payton is head and shoulders better than Frank.

Because you keep some continuity.

Couple of games playing DSJr over Frank ain't gonna kill any type of development for Frank over the long haul.

True but continuity is only needed if you still think we have a chance at the playoffs. Playing Payton as starting PG doesn't help us in any way. However, maybe this isn't the time to do it either the same way DSJr is being showcased. Showcase Payton also until after the trade deadline then make the change.

DSJ, when healthy, has been playing all season and usually getting more time over Frank.
