Melo pulling **** like this completely nullify that argument and since he is likely not going to get suspended, he sends a message that this kind of behavior is tolerable. What ever happened the to the guy who was organizing workouts for new players so that the team could gel together? Can't say that I'm fully on the "trade Melo" train, but you can't help but be extremely disappointed. I do think players seeing it as a difficult place to play is a possible outcome. Unless it comes out that he flat asked to be thrown out it can be perceived as a short leash bc it was. Big name players argue calls much more aggressively than that and don't get tossed. They also don't get booed by irrational fans at home, when jacking up ridiculous shots to try to maximize possessions is at an all time high, I'm not sure KP actually makes people want to play here. GMs are high on KP but haven't really said anybody wants to come. |

Winning in NY would mean more than winning other places, most guys know that. |

If Melo leaves, it will quick noise that appears. It would think it makes sense to not make it a media event. Perhaps a scenario: When Melo signed: PHil, great job! How should I handle if a trade is propsed by another team? Today: Phil: Your agent said you might be receptive to a mutually beneficial trade. |

If I'm a young PG I should think playing with KP has a lot of allure. At just 21 there is an entire career still ahead of KP and time enough to build around him. To a lesser degree how things evolve with this team the rest of the way will be huge. What Phil decides to do will be paramount to the team's future. My guess is Phil may move to a more determined youth movement. It's the only logical step left. |

Sounds like Melo said a lot of good things today. In regards to his ejections,
“It won’t happen again, I can tell you that.’’ “I’ll always have faith as long as I’m here,’’ Anthony said Wednesday. “I’ll always have faith in my ability and our team’s ability. I’ve seen this before, seen it happen before, seen it go downhill quickly. I don’t think this situation it will happen, [but] we definitely have to start playing basketball as a whole as a team.’’ http://nypost.com/2017/01/11/carmelo-it-was-scary-playing-with-derrick-rose-missing/ I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

They should see if they can find a team with a younger player that will sign and trade for Melo. Best case example would be maybe Otto Porter from the Wizards. Melo is still the best player, but Otto will be a good role player around KP's prime. Wizards get to try to go deep now, Knicks get to make some stability around KP that won't demand the ball from him.
