He would have no choice if Utah traded him away. That's not the same as choosing to come here. Melo made the Knicks his destination or preference and told Denver he wasn't going to resign with them. The only other person who did something similar was Rasheed Wallace but Detroit won the Chip and he stayed. We also had a top 6 lottery pick(turned into Gallo), top 8 lottery pick(turned into Hill) which could have been moved for a star if they wanted to come here.

he may have also wanted the trade because of the extra guaranteed money vx. chancing the lockout and losing the extra year. Who else could have traded for him? The Nets? No contest.

I never mentioned Lebron. Paul Pierce is the model Melo should be striving for, because he's not in the same dimension, latitude, atmosphere, planet as Lebron or Durant.

True. Played with Chauncey Billups twice in his career and Kmart twice in his career. Still couldn't get over the hump. Having talent around him was never an issue in his career.

Guy is simply a 3rd tier "superstar". Ain't nothing wrong with that. Probably in the same class as a Vince Carter or Dominique that couldn't elevate his game or those around him to elite status.

The Answer, for all his flaws, actually willed a Pathetic Sixers team with Eric Snow and Aaron McKie to the friggin NBA Finals. Melo couldn't even get a dunk past Roy Hibbert in the 2nd round.

Melo played with over the Hill Iverson, and never with the others I mentioned. ChuckBucky has his agenda and is blind to any reason. Thats ok. Yes, I do believe you can take a 3rd tier star and pair with an elite talent will elevate if so willing. That is my hope.
I am long on record to objecting to the trade but that is not the issue anymore. WE are better with him. he is no messiah, nor was pierce alone. Pierce greatest asset was not really all the things you mentioned but a stone cold killer in the clutch. Melo has not had many opportunities as there has not been many important games.
