And I think that's exactly what he was getting at. It's a nothing burger type of tweet and lots have made too much out of it. Yay

word up. Any old head that watched both of them play can tell so it's not far fetched. Berman, Isola and anyone that agrees with them are exposing themselves.

you don't think it's an example of him taking yet another shot at Kerr and the Warriors, who are chasing Phil's 72wins? we took a shot at them last year when they were down 2-1 to Memphis with the "how's it goink" tweet.

to act like he hasn't taken a few shots at the Warriors and then try to play it off like it was nothing? that's the same way donald trump operates in the media.

I don't think the tweet has anything to do with Kerr or the Warriors. I think it has to do with Curry and Abdul-Rauf and how they are vaguely similar.... I can tell that cause I'm not trying to read into and try to dig out any conspiracy theories.

His other tweet was certainly about 3point shooting and there is no doubt that Phil underestimated the later rounds and talent of what GS was doing.

the only other nba team he tweets about is the Warriors. he doesn't tweet about the spurs, the cavs, OKC. i think it's safe to say he still feels a little burned by steve kerr. and i think it is clouding his judgment on the things he's saying publicly.

of course the comparison is there with rauf - it's shallow and off base, but it's there. but it's one thing to casually discuss that and it's another thing for the president of the new york knicks making his once a month tweet to say it publicly. he just needs to stay off twitter.

It's the sort of comparison I'm sure a lot of NBA talent evaluators make. These are the same guys who think Harold Miner reminds them of Michael Jordan. And when asked to project what kind of player Bargnani and KP will be say Dirk-like for both. You can see why they do it, but it's shallow and off-base and leaves a lot out.

Having the opinion in a conversation is one thing. Tweeting it out after Curry has an incredible game, and the Knicks lose an embarrassing game where they couldn't stay on the floor with the Bosh-less Heat... it's just a bad look. It seems petty and small.

One difference about Curry and Rauf is success on the floor. The most threes Rauf ever hit in a season was 121. Curry is on a pace to hit around 400 this season. Rauf's highest WS48 in his career was .131. Curry is at an astounding .340 this season.

Comparing them stylistically is tenuous, the timing of the comparison was just poor taste and came off as sour grapes since Kerr is the coach who spurned Phil to win titles with Steph and possibly break Phil's 72win record.

I think this is the sort of mind game he would play heading into a game against opposing players as a coach. He would use the media to get out the message he wanted. It was oddly effective. And annoying back then. Randomly tweeting potshots at a superstar because he feels threatened by the Warriors success? I don't see what the point is, other than to try to get in Steph's or the Warrior's head and make them miss out on breaking Phil's record.

He also explained his first tweet about the comparison with what he really meant in another tweet.

Right, when he embarrassed himself and said the comparison wasn't a comparison. How's that goink.

I can pretty much guarantee you that Phil Jackson is not embarrassed by anything he tweets and also couldn't care less what anyone else thinks of his tweets and like Beck said he's probably sitting back and laughing at all the reactions from his tweet.

If he doesn't care what anyone thinks, why did he issue a correction tweet? For the Rauf one and for the "how's it goink" one? If you don't care what someone thinks, you don't spend so much effort to issue corrections.

Yeah Phil doesn't know talent.
Porzingis just fell into his lap, Lopez has game and just fell into his lap, Galloway and DWill looking good in the offense/system as cheap pick ups all just coincidence.

Many NY fans truly deserve the Dolan treatment. We should have traded the 4th pick or drafted a bust just so people could at least continue to feel the normalcy of being part of something Knick like. This whole process of re-building is so alien to many Knick fans that they can't just help to want to get back to the horrendous past culture where trading for Marbury, Bargnani, Eddy Curry was the way to improve a ball club.

Phil is a clown. The tweet where he wanted to show off his philosophical knowledge was a joke. And him trying rain on SCurry's parade was absolutely pathetic.

You run a team that is not even in playoff contention, your hiring of a head coach was one of the worst in the past decade across the league, and your big spending in the 2015 off season was just a scrap heap collection.

guy is an old man completely out of touch.

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

How long have you been a Knicks fan, out of curiosity?

Not trying to do a chest-puffing thing, just honestly curious.

Because I do feel like this is the norm. You know how many false saviors have walked through these doors only to have it hit them in the butt on the way out? There've been quite a few in the 25 years I've spent with the team (much much more since Dolan bought it in 97), and from what I gather even more in the 40 years since the Knicks won a chip.

I don't think what Phil tweets has anything to do with how he does his job. Phil has done okay but fans need to be patient. Running GM's out of town every 2 to 3 years doesn't really help any.

If we were going to be patient, Phil is not the guy I would've chosen to be patient with.

I would've liked to be patient with Donnie Walsh.

It's funny that everyone remembers the Melo trade as Melo being selfish and impatient, when it was really Dolan who was selfish and impatient. He overruled Donnie Walsh, who wanted to hold out, knowing Denver would blink. Dolan got scared and coughed up every asset we had two days before the trade deadline. And then very quietly a few months later, Walsh left the Garden vowing to never talk about what happened.

Phil has not shown good judgment in many situations as Knicks President - including when to tweet and when to shut up. The public statements he makes are absolutely part of the job. You think him looking old and befuddled helps the Knicks attract free agents? He's in a very public role. Every move he makes counts toward how he's doing on the job. That's why he's being paid $60M. No one said it was an easy job. Tweeting stupid crap that makes him look out of touch with today's NBA does very little to help this team.

Couldn't agree more.
